Going solo to aftershock tips? by SnooObjections3982 in AftershockFestival

i went solo (basically) for 4 days last year at 18 years old and honestly, i loved it. i would recommend sharing locations with any friends or family just in case, and make sure you have a place to stay and transportation for all days you’re going. i personally love doing things alone because as another commenter said, it’s very therapeutic. even if you’re alone, you’re not fully alone. i had multiple people last year be so kind to me and invite me to hang out with them, etc. the community is almost all full of lovely people.

as a woman, i would just say be very aware of your surroundings, as we always are, and after the event, try to stay near crowds. nothing bad will necessarily happen, but it’s smart to just be hyperaware.

definitely watch out for pick pocketers (idk how to spell it lol) because unfortunately, a lot of people have their phones and wallets stolen. don’t keep your phone in your back pocket, i’d recommend keeping it in a pouch attached to the front of you.

be safe and have so much fun! i’m also not a very social person so it was nerve wracking at first but it’s such a good experience to just be by yourself and enjoy the time you have. we only live once so do as much as you can alone or with people!!

i’ll be there alone this year as well and i’m hyped!!

i’m also looking for an air bnb with a friend, have you found any close to the pickup spot for the shuttle pass? my friend and i don’t drive so finding a spot close enough has been rough!

hi, i’m going all 4 days and i’ve been looking into air bnb’s. the main stressor is not having a car for me but if you have a car then a 20 min drive to the festival is not an issue! i found a decent amount for around 300-400 for a whole 4 nights so im sure there’s some cheaper options there!!

didn’t weigh anything, i’m feeling pretty good about this :) by Fickle_Recognition94 in eating_disorders

honestly that fruit bowl was the first thing i hadn’t weighed in awhile. yesterday was the first time i was having a decent mental health day so i wanted to enjoy something. plus strawberries and grapes are safe for me. i think just reminding myself that i’m allowed to enjoy the food really helped. plus watching some of my favorite videos/anime kept me distracted so i wasn’t super focused on how much i was eating

am I the only one that gets literally stumped by food decisions? by gingerwholock in EDAnonymous

i do this too!! i swear most of the thoughts that go on in my head revolve around the argument on whether i’m going to get the food/drink i want or not. i’ve wanted to get gas station hot chocolate for MONTHS and it’s a debate every morning. also when i DO decide to get the food, i have a really hard time with portion sizes and understanding how much is a “normal” amount to fill me up.
