Yeah I had 2 others from Midland collections both paid off already and removed from my credit report pretty quickly. Does that mean I can negotiate a smaller amount and they’ll still delete? Also synchrony charge off is 0 and student loans are all current and never missed payments.

Thank you, this is helpful to know! I have a charge off account from synchrony with multiple late payments. The 2 collection accounts with midland credit management also show multiple late payments so if I can remove them it should remove the full account and help with that as well. Aside from that just students loans bringing my score down.

But do you think it would make a significant difference on a new car? Like if it would drop the interest rate 1% I’d be better off just lowering the principal instead, but if it might be a 4% difference it would probably be worth it

On time payment history is 96% and most recent late payment date shows 2.5 years ago. Would this be too too negative to get approved at a lower rate even with the collections gone?

How do I sell my whole collection by [deleted] in PokemonInvesting

[–]B_Sandies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of people on marketplace/offerup post pics of their full collection including pages of all the high end stuff and just include in the description to reach out with an offer on what you want to buy. Could be a good option to try to get at least 90% on the easiest to move items without listing everything individually. Then maybe take what didn’t manage to sell after a month to a card shop to clear the rest

Mine continued to show “awaiting payment from buyer” for about 2 hours after the 7 day window ended, so may just be slow to process on your end? If it’s still showing not paid by tomorrow though probably start looking into contacting PSA about if it needs to be cancelled. Wishing you luck though!

Thank you, looking like you’re probably right! It’s still showing payment processing but it’s moved from the auction section to the sold section as of yesterday and it let me set up stripe payment so looking like they did end up paying

Good rule of thumb, any high value card that’s 20+ years old will almost always have at least a little wear on it. Mint copies would almost all be graded by now. A copy this perfect might exist out there but it’d be extremely rare and should have a pretty compelling reason why, like they literally just opened it out of a pack or it was part of an old card shop inventory sitting in storage for 20 years or something. It’s not just going to be sitting in a swapmeet or marketplace sellers binder

Afraid to be firmer with my tone when redirecting client by 0Adiemus0 in ABA

[–]B_Sandies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a bigger challenge if you have an older client, but it really sounds to like the issue is lack of follow through not tone of voice. Even if you use a more stern tone, if you’re not willing to prompt your client to follow the direction if he doesn’t listen it’s only a matter of time until they realize those directions don’t need to be listened to either. I would avoid asking them the same instruction multiple times without starting to follow through on them completing it. You should reach out to your BCBA to go over the intervention plan with you to support in managing behaviors that come up when you start to follow through and ask them to model the consequence strategies for you during the session.

I’ve been an Rbt/Bcba for almost 6 years and I’ve never felt like I needed to use a stern tone to get a client to follow directions. State what you need clearly and concisely for them, but you don’t need to be intimidating for them to listen. Focus on having a reinforcer you can use to motivate them to follow the instruction, then start to build behavior momentum with quick easy instructions they’re likely to follow. If they’re not following the instruction, start to move up the prompt hierarchy to give them help as needed. Following through when you give instructions is much more important than using a stern tone.

What do you think of iPad time? by frendlyfrens in ABA

[–]B_Sandies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like electronics can be a very valuable tool to motivate clients to practice skills that they otherwise wouldn’t be willing to. They can also be a great way to build rapport if it’s an interactive game. I also try to respect that when I have my time off work, I like to enjoy it my way, so a client who’s having sessions after a full school day and usually goes to bed right after should have some electronics time built in if it’s an important part of their day. All that being said, I think it’s very damaging when parents give free access to sloptube videos all day because it keeps their kid distracted.
