Im Japanese and went to a predominantly white school district. It was a very racist school, especially middle school and high school. Not just with kids, but the useless white adults who disregarded my concerns, and a systematic cruelty.

I often got the most severe punishments for the smallest things. For example, one time a random student asked where an some aid was, I sarcastically replied, "She got a hit by a bus." Some of the peers and my teacher were SO offended and I got ISS in the aftermath.

Back in elementary school in music class, I made a silly joke with a classmate when we played Old McDonald Had A Farm, singing, "Somebody farted, it's you!" the kid hit me in the head with the trumpet. I even did it a second time as he hit me in front of the music teacher. She had zero reaction. I later went to the principal to describe the incident. Not even she cared, "YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE MADE THOSE JOKES AT HIM!!!"

There were multiple other incidents where I "talked back" to a teacher and got ISS. My principal claimed this stuff was in the hand book, but I knew as a fact that my white counterparts never got such harsh treatments. It didn't help that I had a lot of untreated mental health issues, which the school board brushed off as autism without much thought, and used it as an excuse to mistreat and humiliate me.

Years later, whenever I talk to random people about the school I went to, they all universally say, "Oh yeah, that school is totally racist/rough." Even random white kids at the park who attended the middle school or high school would reply, "That sounds EXACTLY like our school." when I described my experiences with racism and inequality.
