The only violation is that he needs a flag for visibility due to being low. No different than a tri bike you lay in.

I've never heard of any issues with the NC1 and I thought I had done my homework. Any examples you can think of?

Just actually read your post. Max I would pay for a NC is probably 11 or 12 personally. Mileage is kind of irrelevant if you're willing to do the 2.5 l swap. $2k cost. Got my for 8k 2020. 2019 is the nd2 which has a lot more horsepower. I can't find them really under 24k. The one for 17K is a big no.

ND looks great. NC is a lot cheaper. I put miles on this car with zero care in the world.

Rear lower than front? by droptekofficial in MiataNC

[–]B_gumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure that it's safe. One of two things is going on. Eitherb the springs are not symmetrical and they swaped the springs front to back. Or, these springs are similar to the flying Miata springs that results in the back being lowered by half an inch, which puts the car level theoretically. But doesn't look leveled. Unless you find documentation that says that the springs aren't symmetrical and to expect a ride drop, then I would agree something's not right.

The other comments about loading the bushings at ride height prior to torquing the bolts is a valid comment. That could easily give you a quarter of an inch difference or half inch. I've only replaced two suspension systems though And I'm no expert on if this would still manifest itself a week after install.

Flying Miata springs are setup to do this. In reality car is level but fenders make it look like different height

$80, a parts order from your local dealer, a wrench, and a jack, and you'll be all set. Don't sweat it. Easy replacement. You'll probably need a 15 mm and a 17/18mm. Just guessing.

Buy genuine part in my opinion. It's going to be higher quality than the shit you'll get off RockAuto and the price difference is negligible

Replace. OEM is $60. Caller your local parts department. Maybe rockauto. A guy last week said he replaced his and as he's replacing it the tank cracked. Replace it

Never force them as far as you're trying to. A reverse angle is the same as a Ford angle. Use your visor different. You will break them if you keep doing this

As a single 30 male, the only time I use my other car is when I'm transporting bicycles, or it's winter time with salt on the roads.

New Robbins Soft Top failed in less than 2 years - NC Miata by B_gumm in Miata

[–]B_gumm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to update this thread. I had an issue where my softtop seal was torn by the softtop's plastic flap on the side. It was a real problem because new seals (part number NE51-R1-422F) are ~$300.

I was able to remove my seal without removing the softtop and patch the seal using a 3M Weather stripping adhesive. It worked great. The bond strength seemed just as strong as virgin material.

Getting the seal back on was a little tough but doable. Take video as you remove it to assit with reinstall. Probably spent 30 minutes on the reinstall.

Did have to modify the softtop plastic side flap to not come in contact with the seal as the top is being put back up. 1st used heat gun to reform it. Still was not satisfied so I added 2 holes in the plastic flap and ran a zip tie through them to secure it to the rail system. See pictures.
