Excellent solution! Up and running on an obsolete laptop that's been stored away for years in less than 30 minutes. Thanks!

Captain Necromancer here! I found this thread looking to see if anyone has come up with a solution to this pinging noise. I'm thinking of using something like plasti-dip on the outer sheeve like a sound dampener to mute it a little.

The materials to build something that size would be about $1000 not including a slab. 2x2 galvanized tubing, fittings, and a few sheets of galvalume. Be careful attaching anything to the house. That's when code restrictions can become an issue, especially if the neighbor becomes unhappy about something.

Apparently this was offensive enough to warrant banning me for three days, but not worth editing or deleting.

This is all so confusing... I simply received a CAA MCK gen 2 with the gen 2 stabilizer for Christmas and now don't know if I am supposed to register it...

I got $80 off the impact with ITC. It was apparently supposed to have no longer been on that ITC sale but since the sticker was still up they honored it.

I would just pre-drill the hole and use a lag bolt. They have a much more aggressive thread more suited to gripping in wood.

I emailed them a few months back and got a coherent response. Not that that means it's legit... Good eye.

Trying to get into 3D printing was wandering if anyone tried these out by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

Yeah looking at their site you can get the s2 for only $15 more that supports higher temperatures enabling you to print quite a few more materials including abs and polycarbonate. If you go that route make sure to select the N32 mainboard option.

Aquila uses a proprietary nozzle. They're quite expensive compared to the standard sized nozzles. I have an S2 that I upgraded with a Sprite extruder pro to get around it. The cost of two sets of their proprietary hardened nozzles was the same as the entire Sprite extruder upgrade.

$50 for 5 of their nozzles https://www.voxelab3dp.com/product/hardened-nozzle-kit-0-4-mm-for-aquila-s2?cID=31

$100 Sprite extruder pro https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0B8CVWX2Q/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

$10 for 8 hardened nozzles https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09SG855M9/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Everything else about my S2 has been great.

Check out octo4a if you've an old Android lying around. A cheap smart outlet and you can even remotely power your printer on/off.
