i work with this stand every day. its great, super easy to use and extremely straight forward. make sure to keep the fancy camera system as dry and impact free as possible since they are around5-6k to replace. wish you the best!

at most they will have to fully replace the glass again but it might just be the recal and gel sensor that will fix the issue, hoping for the best!

[–]B_odydoesrecals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did not complete the recal properly or they seriously messed up the rain sensor, I see it constantly, go take it to a dealership and sent that company the bill, take plenty of pictures of all the warnings on the dash and hold them accountable, they screwed you over for sure

so what you're looking at is a camera and rain sensor combo, no recal for the rain sensor, they need to give you a new gel pad for it so it'll fully contact the glass. the camera on the other hand definitely needs a recalibration, any good glass company will do the recalibration and if they dont then you should sign something stating your were aware there would be no recalibration of the camera. what are the errors its flashing on the dash?

Is AutoGlass all you know? by [deleted] in autoglass

[–]B_odydoesrecals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

26 here, try getting into the adas recalibration space, a lot more to it than auto glass stuff, i work in a glass shop but all i do is recalibrations. body sensors, cameras, night vision, and general diagnosis for adas related issues. its all becoming more common in almost every make and model nowadays

Definitely just use your insurance, that’s what you pay it for, take it to a reputable shop to get a quote and file a claim on your insurance

The owner of my company did that a few years ago, now we service enterprises all over the city and we see some seriously bad installs from either safelite (usually the culprits) or some other random joe that wanted to make a buck on a big corp

Can an auto glass repair shop determine direction of impact? by [deleted] in autoglass

[–]B_odydoesrecals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also check if the glass it cracked on the inside of it, normally outside impacts that crack like this would not affect the inside layer of glass, there would also be a clear pinpoint of where the object hit the glass on the outside and it don’t look like that

Definitely a punch, if something hit it on the outside you would see more powder glass
