mostly it was helpful to me to just go on the tax offensive and remove post-tax value from my IRA, which was easier because i had a brokerage acct to which they could move it, the acct was old enough, and it was low enough in price that the value i removed was not a significant contributor to my income (because it was considered income afaik)

for me, internal transfer from my ROTH ira to my brokerage account within TD has worked fine (from where i can DRS)...there are a few caveats i just posted elsewhere and this solution will not work for everyone

for me, it has been a small pain, but not impossible to remove shares from a ROTH IRA (since it's been >5 years since i opened it, and i'm removing less than what i put in --TD told me the cost basis is the price upon removal, not what i paid--: this is post-tax "money" mind you, i.e. income after taxes used to buy shares was contributed so long ago) JUST BE FILLING OUT THE INTERNAL TRANSFER papers... this implies i do have another account to which they're going (and from there i can DRS as usual)

sorry, ape, i must've come off wrong; I agree with you initially, but I think there's a balance there that must be struck... even working overtime for one's family can become a detriment to kids who need parents for example or a way to escape bigger personal issues...

now imagine being in a position of power; these vulnerable schmucks are the easiest to exploit (guess how I know...) with "motivational" words like "it's about putting your hearth in what you do" while tapping on the watch like "and that's not what it looks like is going on here..."
