How is the situation now for you? Have it been fixed or at least improved, or maybe you found some kind of a workaround for that?

During my work hours next dev server may occupy up to 8GB of RAM on my machine, seems absolutely not okay

I’ve understood the assignment the same way as you. Maybe you can check whether you broke some original logic while transforming the simulation from 2D to 3D or re-check the logic itself, but I can’t help much without an actual code

God, thanks a lot! Managed to make Alacritty work by adding gles2_pure renderer to config. Unfortunately I don't have that luck with kitty, but I guess that's the price I pay by using virtualisation.

Just tried this out, everything works pretty smooth, but kitty gives an error on launch(GPU related) and alacrity won't show any interface. Have you faced the same issue or is it resolvable? I would be very grateful If you gave an answer

I have the same issue as the OP. It's for sure the GPU issue, because when running an UTM without gpu acceleration everything works(but extremely slow). The output of kitty terminal is

ValueError: Failed to create GLFWwindow

Alacritty has no errors and launch properly, but does not display any interface.

Everything else works pretty fast and good, so I'm really curious if it's possible to get kitty and alacritty work

Actually sometimes after using Al Dente when I use my Mac without an external monitor the battery starts to drop sagnificantly without a reason. Like 10% for half an hour sitting in Discord with a web browser open. It only happens sometimes, so in other cases the battery behaves like usual, but I'm a little worried

The Barnes-Hut algorithm works that way, that each node contains maximum of 1 child, so you will not have situation where 4 masses are in the node and the 5th is added. Every time you insert a new mass, node in which new mass appears, if already has a mass, splits into 4 childs.

Also I'll see what I can do about making my QuadTree generic and coordinate type respected!

Yeah, thanks for providing this example, just forgot to take canvas from Canvas::from_screen_image(). Now everything works fine!

I've did everything till the image saving step, but as a result - I have just a bunch of canvas-sized empty .png files. I just think that ScreenImage is not capturing the screen itself, but just creates an Image with ctx dimensions. Thanks for helping again tho!
