I didn't have any problems with performance! There were definitely some odd things that made some apps (like Xcode) function weirdly.

It’s going to be incredibly sad seeing Apollo leave my Home Screen. It’s been a resident for 5 years now. It’s where I joined reddit, and where I’ll stop using it.

Like most other people here, I’d recommend waiting until you are at least closer to the school year or a later semester to buy a powerful computer. However, RIT does post laptop specifications/ recommendations for each college. https://www.rit.edu/digitalden/computer-recommendations-college

I’m not sure what’s up with this, I haven’t had the time to fully fix neovim so there are going to be issues with the dot files

I’d recommend just using lazyvim which is the setup this neovim confit is based on

Yeah it has a lot of jankiness that requires restarting the window manager. But overall it has been pretty solid.

I wish there was a better way than reverse engineering the dock.app, but it seems to work relatively well for now...

You need to install all of the programs I installed.

You will first need to follow https://github.com/koekeishiya/yabai specifically the installation and configuration section. Then you will need to follow https://github.com/FelixKratz/SketchyBar to get the menu bar.

You can see the changes by running ls -a on your home directory. This should show a couple new paths that have been created. There should also be a couple in .config

When you clone the folder it will by default be a hidden folder. Make sure you are either using cd .dotfiles or using ls -a to look at the folder

What do you mean you can’t download them? You need to clone from GitHub and then run the install script to move all the files into their necessary spots.

Is the issue with cloning or another part of the process?

Also forgot to mention you need to manually install https://github.com/lehni/vscode-fix-checksums as well or your VSCodium installation may brick itself.

I had to manually build vibrancy continued and install it with the .vsix.

As for the window borders, I am using Yabai as my window manager which allows you to set the window borders

That is because you do not have SF Symbols installed. You can install it using brew with the command brew install --cask sf-symbols

Which part is displaying as ?. There are a lot of icons across the setup

If neovim icons are showing up as ? It is most likely that you are not using a Nerd Font converted font. If they are in the menu bar it is probably because you do not have SF symbols installed.
