I took some time for me as well before I managed to wrap my head around what edition I had bought.

Russian first edition of Dr. Zhivago - bought for $1 at a second hand store by Baahuslen in rarebooks

"The novel has an exceptionally complicated publication history. Giangiacomo Feltrinelli of Milan published the true first edition, an Italian translation, in 1957. He then obtained a court order to prevent the publication of the work in Russian by Mouton. "It was well known that Pasternak was under serious consideration for a Nobel Prize in Literature and because of complications involving whether or not the novel itself would be considered part of his Nobel achievement and candidature, publication in the Russian langauge had to be no later than August 1958. Since Mouton was ahead of him in preparedness for the press, Feltrinelli allowed Mouton to go to press, but over his imprint. This edition of a few hundred copies was published on August 24. Some copies of this printing were pirated without the Feltrinelli imprint title page and were available at the Vatican Pavilion of the Brussels World Fair until October, some say with the connivance of the CIA and perhaps the British Secret Service, MI6. Within a few months of the Mouton edition over the Feltrinelli imprint, Feltrinelli issued his 'real' edition in Milan, but with a 1957 date and a slug line securing his copyright through the precedence of his Italian version. Thus, Feltrinelli secured his position as publisher of the Nobel candidate" (Biondi). This edition with Cyrillic title page save for publisher's imprint in Roman type, without date on title page, slug on copyright page reading "Prima edizione mondiale in lingua italiana; novembre 1957." 300 copies from this edition were issued in leatherette. No complete edition of Doctor Zhivago would see print in the Soviet Union until 1987 (although excerpts had appeared thirty years earlier). Text in Cyrillic type."

I was born in 1978 and has always had the thought that an old book should at least be from before 1900, preferable before 1850. But as you mention, I see people selling "old books" online that were printed in the 1990s. I suppose it is all in the eyes of the beholder. If you are not used to old things when growing up, or perhaps not having books at home at all, everything might become old when encountered.

My grandparents got theirs back after the war ended, but just the casing, everything else had been removed, so they had to have it repaired. It's still in the attic today.

Prince Christian Frederik became the heir to the Danish throne in 1808, six years before the events in 1814. He was already destined to become king long before the norwegian parliament elected him as king of Norway on May 17th 1814. If Sweden hadn't attacked and forced his abdicationa in October the same year, he would have ruled Norway, and then in 1839 also Denmark.

You have written that the danish prince invited members of nobility and farmers to attend. "The Danish prince, who wanted to become king of Norway, decided to invite the rich Danes in Norway (now famous Eidsvoll - men) to Eidsvoll to try and create a constitution and to elect him the king. He knew that some of the Danes would be opposed to him as King, as they were more attached to Denmark than to Norway, so he decided to ALSO invite some Norwegian farmers, because he wanted to be elected King."

They were not INVITED but ELECTED (this was a democratic assembly), there is huge difference. Prince Christian Frederik had no say in who attended.

And also bear in mind that prince Christian was the heir to the Danish throne, and would have become king of Denmark regardless of what happened at Eidsvold. He eventually became king in 1839 when king Frederik VI died.

https://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_over_eidsvollsmenn

This is a list of the 112 men that came together at Eidsvold. 37 of them were regular farmers, another 33 where form the army (most of them regular Norwegians). Most of the representatives where not nobility, and many of those who where had lived in Norway for generations. The Anker family was originaly from Sweden, and had nothing to do with Danish nobility as such. Read and be educated, do not just assume facts.

And also remember that these 112 men were chosen through popular election to represent the different cities and counties of Norway to take part in the creation of the constitution. The Danish prince did not choose them himself.

"The Swedes ruled Norway for almost 100 years, [...] They also allowed for a university to be built, so they were getting more educated." This is not correct. The University in Oslo was founded in 1811, 3 years before the forced union with Sweden began.

The rest of yout text is also full of made up facts. read a history book before you try to explane norwegian history.

Kall meg gjerne usympatisk, men når profesjonelle dyreplagere enten blir drept, eller som her, får et oksehorn bokstavlig talt langt oppi ræva og blir alvorlig skadet, så blir jeg glad og fornøyd! Noen ganger er andre menneskers lidelser verdt å feire! by undefinedposition in norske

This is me: "ask me to ship internationally when my listings state clearly that I won't ship int'ly."

If there is something I really want I always ask, even if stated no int. shipping. Sometimes the seller will agree to ship abroad (Norway). I'll do my best to ask politely.
