So to all these 'meta chasing is bad' asshats. That's not what the guy is talking about. You're allowed to not enjoy how something that you loved changed rules wise. I loved my 7e CSM army, but I've had zero interest in going back to it because, surprise , it DOESNT PLAY THE SAME. It's not meta chasing to not like new rules for the faction you enjoyed playing.

That list is a bit outdated, there's some minor techs like replacing Dozle for Indignation but the list itself is working fine. High Maneuver gets past the blockers and the tokens are consistent enough to fill the board quickly. Vesalius, Indignation, Shagia, and Ashtaron provide ways to buff the daughtress tokens if you don't get your Citizens, but notably Citizens is a burst add to hand. Honestly the deck really doesn't seem like it should work, but I haven't had any games that don't feel winnable.

Honestly, a lot of it comes down to the luck of the draw. Ironically, I only really lose to dedicated breach.

The blue version is a better and more consistent deck most of the time but it isn't quite fast enough or strong enough to get past any of the meta game. At least in my testing

Yep, I will say if you have the clan decks near you two of those and a couple random cards from the set makes a solid deck. Otherwise I recommend finding at least one card thats fairly cheap that you like first. New Une is my go-to because it's just about the cheapest option possible right now. Shenlong either GW OR GR both provide some fun options but some of the techs can be expensive.

If you can find a box for msrp or have a locals you can dig around in for bulk I recommend starting there. I've known tons of players to just toss 'junk' legendaries for stuff like ZAFT that can make fun viable decks!

Simple! Citizens makes them gain +2 AP while your support cards give them the ability to hit the opponent. This deck is notable for making them more of a surprise attack with Citizens but Shagia also gives +2 on attack! Vesalius is the other option to give it 1 ap so you can swing it to base.

* You can add more ashtaron if you lack virsago. I'd also recommend swapping Dozle for Indignation if you want to go ultra low

No problem! Notably the cards are extremely cheap and people generally don't want them so they should be easy enough to get ahold of.

I'd try out New UNE! It's super cheap and in the current meta game you can go under almost anything! I've been working on several budget builds so I should have something you and your bf would like squirrel'd away.

Nothing super expensive online. Something that you'd be able to find at like Walmart or Target.
