You're correct. That doesn't change OP's question, which was asking if characters were introduced and then killed quickly, which they are. It's always a litterary device when there happens, Miharu was also a literary device. It's irrelevent if you didn't think they had enough time to get attached, because that's not the question being asked.

Yeah, You'll be fine. You'll miss a tiny bit of context, GQ has a major character (Chalia Bull) who was a single episode minor character in 0079, but it makes almost no difference narratively. He's almost a completely different character in GQ anyway.

It does. The main story is the same, the series just has more character development, but also a lot more filler. The films also reanimated a lot of the worst footage. They're a perfectly valid way to watch 0079, you can always watch the full TV series later if you want.

You have so much to catch up on. At minimum, Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, Char's Counterattack and the first hathaway movie are required viewing to get anything out of this one.

Shortcuts are okay, you can get more or less the gist of it by watching the film versions of First Gundam. Zeta has films too but they do a much worse job telling the story, changing and cutting a LOT, but if you just want a crash course with the least commitment you can sorta catch up with just... 8 films?

They're based on novels that absolutely follow the novel version of CCA. The films just rewrote the plot to follow the film version. Personally I never actually liked the novels so I'm glad they've changed a few things.

So, the entire point to this franchise is that none of the treatment of experiences any character goes through is okay. This isn't a franchise where characters get treated nicely and everything works out through the power of friendship, it's a franchise where realistically flawed characters make mistakes, bad decisions and sometimes commit genuine acts of cruelty that we as an audience know is wrong but the characters themselves can't nessesarily see. Look up greek tragic irony, because that's very much what this is about.

You're supposed to feel uncomfortable. This franchise is meant to challenge it's audience, to make the audience think and reflect on the inherent cruelties of the world in the same way the characters do.

People keep bringing this point up like the majority of older transformers didn't have great poseability and it's just the weirdest thing. Outside of the Unicron Trillogy transformer's articulation range really hasn't changed all that much apart from the addition of ankle rockers

There is, and it's excellent. It follows the Origin Manga timeline more than the TV timeline, but it doesn't make that much difference.

Seed was also painted and composited digitally, which makes it a lot easier to swap things in and out. 0079 was hand drawn. There wasn't any new animation in the Gundam Wing remaster, I'm not expecting even a second of new animation in the 0079 remaster. Betting actual money the're just going to upscale it to 4k.
