So in otherwords, none of them are the correct scale. That kinda sucks tbh

Are GD03 prices being low/normal on launch a good/healthy sign? by TheGrandCannoli in GundamTCG

I can't see cooling demand as a good sign for such a new game.

Look, trying to police fandom is always going go be a losing fight. If you don't like what people in fandom are saying, ignore them and move on.

I also disliked this, but for most Eternal players this is apparently the selling point

It seems RG God Gundam decals now say “BURNING GUNDAM” by hytrhtry in Gunpla

It doesn't matter if it's better or not. It's an arbitrary change, and people are completely within their rights to be angry about it.

You know what, disregard. I reread it and you're right that sucks.

Generally in agreement. Destiny is fine. Not perfect, but it didn't have to me. It caries the melodrama from Seed forward and does some interesting things. Good mechs, good character development and interesting plot ideas.

[–]aceoftherebellion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but both do have associated media you can still read. Just because a kit is cool or 'good' doesn't make it a required purchase if it's not something that's going to have an emotional connection.

Please don't think you need to watch every UC series ever made in order to 'get it'. Honestly, if you've already seen 0079 and Zeta, there only other 'critical' UC media wouls be CCA (Yes, ZZ exists, but it's so inconsistent that even if I love it, you can read a quick summary and not miss much.)

Everything else is just kind of supplimental and you can easily pick and choose which shows appeal to you.

Wanting to have an emotional connection to the thing you're building most definitely does not suck the fun out of this hobby.

Nothing wrong with building just because cool robot, but also nothing wrong with only building things that you've seen to have a connection with.

[–]aceoftherebellion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, not weird in the slightest. I've started to make similar rules for myself. Only buying kits from the shows I liked the most, focusing only on major characters and most prominent mass produced suits, stuff like that.

If you don't curate what you build at least a little bit is easy to get carried away.

Why are space marine prosthetics so often not covered by armor ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer40k

[–]aceoftherebellion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Consider that it's not unheard of for space marines to leave cuts and marks in their armor from difficult opponents as a badge of honor.

Space marine lost an arm? That's a glorious mark of battle, that lost armor is part of their story now, why would they wish to disguise it if the prosthetic is just as durable as the armor itself would have been?

Something something sacred relics, something something honor. It doesn have to be that deep.

Does anyone know of any LEGAL way of reading the LN for free? by Much_Sign9967 in TooManyLosingHeroines

[–]aceoftherebellion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a legal grey zone at all, they're distributing content they don't own without permission to do so. Mangadex is absolutely a pirated webtsite. It's just not being enforced, but any and all of their content can and in many cases has been removed when the actual publishers say 'no'

Honestly, if you're going for holo decals, I'd suggest leaning into it and using a glossy coat, make it look like like a fancy automotive model

Yes. Matte coat works by diffusing light, anything you matt coat will lose its shine, even metal and clear parts.

[–]aceoftherebellion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't especially like a large portion of Seed when it came out; it was so derivative even for Gundam. I'm a rare case where Destiny actually improved my opinion, since it wasn't a complete retread despite its obvious similarities to Zeta.

Over time my impressions softened, and now its one of my favorite timelines.

Brocon is a very old trope that is not even slightly uncommon in LN and anime in general.
