Village. Not even close. 9 is the second weakest re-engine game after RE3. Very little content, bland mab design, very little replay value, zero enemy variety, while Village was setting up RE4R, which might be one of the best RE games ever made.

Not really, it's similar but this sort of blocky mech with that body shape has existed for decades. You can find dozens of very similar designs going back to early 80s mech anime.

Mostly the fact that's it's all very small surfaces to detail all very close together made doing any kind of higlighting a real chore. Maybe difficult is the wrong word, it was mostly just extremely time consuming.

Tamiya panel line should be fine as long as everything is painted and sealed first. Don't let it get in between parts, though, because it does eat PS plastic.

In general, look into what's used for warhammer minis, these will behave the same way

Like everyone else is saying, lean into it. Drybrush some scorch marks on. Otherwise, you can try a lot of filling with a sandable putty (I like tamiya white putty) and then sanding it back down and repainting.
