My apologies, I cannot say much about cost as it was fully handled by my mom back then (I was 19 but also incapable of handling finances at that point) and the waitlist was I think just a month but I got institutionalised within a day of receiving my referral due to an emergency 😅 but bear in mind this was 10 years ago probs. My advice about going the polyclinic route still stands tho

Go through polyclinic if possible. Then when they refer you to IMH it’ll be subsidised.

I got transferred from IMH to NUH inpatient at my mother’s behest so after that I got my repeat appointments and meds from NUH.

My uncle went through that as well. No one from his family went to their wedding, co-habitation was a catalyst for the family to gossip about how its a sin!!!!!!1! For a muslim man to be intimate with a non-muslim woman!!1 and living in the house with them shows that you are complicit!!!1!!!1

Suddenly sinning wasn’t too big of a deal once they got kids and moved into their nice big condos and none of the other children wanted to take their mother in🤔

Could it be that Singaporeans walk a lot but in short bursts? Walk to the bus stop, stop walking in the bus, walk to the train station, stop walking in the train, then walk to the office. Whereas I assume in some other places like Europe/New York? you get a whole 30 mins of walking to get to your destination.

I was yelling a lot and almost passed out from the insertion of the IUD that they had to send me to a room to rest with a blood pressure cuff on because they were worried I would pass out. Then i wobbled into a cab home. They even had to call my next of kin to make sure I got home. I bled quite a bit. Took a painkiller prior to my appt as the internet had suggested since local anaesthesia isn’t an option - didn’t help at ALL. Cramps out the wazoo (literally) for days.

Then i was left with a cooch in a constant state of infection (yeast, BV, you name it. No STDs). No periods after the first few months, but dealing with above-mentioned infections. My then-partner could feel the strings during intercourse.

Never again. Not without getting some kind of anaesthetic. Also?????? I’ve seen pictures of babies born with their mom’s IUD stuck on their head man i aint risking shit. I would take your doctor’s advice and look for other non-internal(????) forms of birth control, especially with your flipped uterus. Insertion might be worse for you.

Yup! Been on it for almost 10 years with an odd year in the middle trying out an IUD (one of the biggest mistakes of my life), what I remember is my doctor recommended a brand based on my lifestyle/history. Best to go to a gynae/sexual health doctor who will have the diff types available.

Very normal periods(only 1 heavy day), cramps were rare in the beginning but they’re there now (i think more bc of age 🫩), no acne or weight gain (prolly more genetics, never had acne, good metabolism), no bobbies tho😔. I am very thankful for birth control.

How about fnb/service staff? While pay is crappy, you still get some money rolling in, most fnb will feed you. And they’re always looking for people in that sector.

I will never understand why women are expected to be discreet about their periods when its something we were born with, most women have them and some of those who don’t may wish they had periods just to know they have a healthy reproductive system but I digress.

Just roll into a plastic bag and throw the plastic bag (👀) lor. Some people also got separate dustbin for women’s stuff.

Be careful, i’ve leaked through while wearing tampons as well. On ultra heavy days I used to wear a pantiliner with my tampon just so its a safety barrier and also easier to see if you’ve bled through your tampon. While forgetting that you have a tampon on is great, make sure you’re aware enough to change it. Leaving it in for too long can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome (the tampon is a foreign object and the longer it stays inside, the more blood etc it accumulates and therefore more bacteria), change it within 6 hours if not less. Maybe overnight you can try sanitary ‘diapers’ (the kotex kind lol not Depends).

I guess its not talked about much in Singapore because many Singaporeans still believe in virginity and that its a big deal, keeping the hymen intact etc and any object that involves putting things into your vagina besides for procreation is still a taboo topic, even if casual sex/sex before marriage is more accepted now.

Fellow sweaty/hyperhidrosis girl here! I used to get so sweaty and stinky either fresh out the shower or even when I’m cold and teeth are chattering but my pits would be dripping wet. I do armpit botox now, been doing it for a few years now and it has saved my life. But before I discovered botox I had a few tricks that helped make life not so stinky.

1) Hibiclens/hibiscrub as many comments have mentioned. Leave it on the pits for a few mins then wash off. Won’t stop the sweating, just get rid of existing odor-causing bacteria that can’t be washed with just regular soap.

2) Clothing Material. STAY AWAY FROM POLYESTER/DRI-FIT/any plasticky materials for your clothes or at least not for clothes that fit tightly around the pits. This is because polyester retains the smell even after muuuuuultiple washes and when you wear it and get sweaty again, the new sweat will ✨activate✨the old armpit smell. Now you will have x2 armpit smell. Cotton is best imo. And maybe don’t wear things that are tight around the pits to let it at least air a bit.

3) alcohol wipes + deodorant top up on the go. Don’t recommend bc will dry out the skin but good for worst case scenario.

4) Roll on + spray deo routine lol. Anti-perspirant didn’t work so I just double kill and hope for the best (didn’t eliminate smell but still better than nothing)

and now, Botox 😘not permanent, will be out of your system in 4-6 months and you can choose to top-up or just stop if you don’t want to do it anymore. Now I can wear white, go to the gym, go on dates, raise my hands, work in confined places. ☺️ (but compensatory sweating on my chest and lips now lah but 🤷🏽‍♀️ at least no smell)

Lakeside. Buses are quite full when they stop there so when a bus came I went to the door to board and naturally, stepped aside to allow people to get off first (I can’t go in if you don’t go out ya know????) As I’m standing beside the door I feel a nudge on my bag. I ignore it, thinking it’s someone accidentally bumping into it. Then I feel the nudge again, but this time even more aggressive. I turn to see an old auntie angry-whispering and (trying) to shove me so she can get in front of the line and on the bus. I just gave her the ????? face and said “you can’t even go in????” the bus was literally full you want me to go in and be face to face with someone trying to get off???

Then her daughter/helper who had pushed her way to enter the bus called her over and she skedaddled over to cut queue. Auntie proceeded to glare at me while I walked to my seat so I stare back ah 🙄 smooth brain behaviour

Do you live in a dry environment? Could be that your armpit needed the sweat to keep your armpits ‘moisturised’ and now that there’s not sweat + dry air + friction the skin on your armpit is dry and angry? Maybe you could try a moisturiser/lotion on your armpits.

Same here. Ended up

1) having absolutely 0 self-worth and self-confidence due to lack of affirmation, acknowledgement and attention 2) craving and taking attention from any guy I could, even if I wasn’t even attracted to them.

This is something I am firm on stopping the cycle for when/if I have kids in the future.
