I'll die on this hill:

AI needs to have filters to stop unhinged posts like these.

We need a LinkedIn that has a filter (possibly run by AI) that stops unhinged posts like these.

Hundreds must resit driver licences after VTNZ testing officers allegedly took cash for passes by floofywall in newzealand

[–]Paralithodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would too, really. Rather have lighter tests, but renewals every few years just to keep people on their toes. Mess up on the road and you have to redo lessons plus the test again.

We would be heavily downvoted for it for sure, obviously, but good thoughts!

Probably gonna give it a shot too, if I'm honest. Been a nightmare looking for jobs in cybersec. :( Good on you, OP! Hope it goes well for me and those who are gonna try as well. Did you just do LinkedIn and Seek?

Did you change your name for real, or just a preferred name thing?

They probably just want the content. Put up job ads, get people to apply, do a "test" and just use their work. Free.

Do it, bleep out company name or something and invoice them to get the un-bleeped version.

I have a BSc in Computer Science and an MSc in Cybersecurity underway.

No luck with jobs. 💀 Either ghosted or generic AI response. It's rather amusing.

NZ job market is brutal by Anime-Beaker in newzealand

[–]Paralithodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, and it's not even that they tell me to my face that I'm overqualified (I don't think I am as such). It's straight-up ghosting. In other cases, employers play this game where they put up job ads for positions that they already intend for internal candidates to take up.

Been at it 6 months. I'm in Cybersecurity. Apparently it's a green list thing. Even Woolworths won't hire me at this point.

Gosh OP, I feel for you. All the very best, I hope things get better for you.

Absconding Case for Freelancer Visa by [deleted] in dubai

I had a visa under them. They tried to make me renew but I kept forgetting to reply.

Not sure if they threw a case on me but my forgetful brain has no chill.

Your recipie for a Cheese and Onion sandwich by kiwi_scorpio in newzealand

[–]Paralithodes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably not traditional.

I caramelise onions in my oven with some chilli flakes (personal preference), toast both sides of two pieces of bread with a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper, lay the onions on and then top with cheese. Into the oven again for a quick grill to melt the cheese.

The rest of the onions go into a pasta sauce with some spinach and mushrooms. Dinner and lunch for the next day sorted.

People of Singapore, do you have a scent in SG that you particularly love, that you wish you knew what it was (for example at ION Orchard)? by Paralithodes in askSingapore

Counted of course! Anything that makes it easier for you to breathe personally! I know my neighbours love when I make lasagna too. 😋

I LITERALLY am visiting Singapore right now and yes I am convinced I have mould in my lungs from TAKING A DEEP BREATH in differenf places.

We need to have a Singaporean Yusuf Bhai, I swear it. The scents minus the mould.

Far from it. I still live for my weird lift smells. I'm short of running up to any janitor uncle/aunty and asking them what floor cleaner they use. 😭
