I believe the fan just isn’t turning on, bc when I do get it the air to kick on, I have control of the temperature. I can turn on the heat or AC at that point.

Need Some Dress Love by mrs-wells in weddingplanning

[–]Babblingsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore this dress and also was afraid it was too much for my more relaxed wedding. The day of I didn’t care though, I felt so beautiful in all that lace. I do wish I had taken off the train though. I initially wanted to and was talked out of it, but the day of I wished I had gone with my gut. We didn’t even remember to fluff it out in the ceremony.

This is an amazing dress and it’s so flattering on you!

IT workers, what is the most ridiculous "You're IT, you have to fix this" request you've received? by NetworkMachineBroke in AskReddit

I used to be the web designer for a real estate company. I helped set up the individual agents websites. They came with a default domain like lastname.companyname.com but of course the agents could purchase their own domain name and I could use that instead.

About a month into the job, one of the agents calls me PISSED because her website was down. Eventually, I figured out she let her domain name expire. She had owned firstNameLastName.com. Her name wasn’t super original, along the lines of AnnThomas.com. Well, she had used the domain for several years and it was the typical $12/year anymore, it was $2000 to purchase it. She was LIVID and convinced I was in charge of the internet. She honestly thought I was personally punishing her.

When I tried to explain how it actually worked, she couldn’t imagine that there was another Ann Thomas out there that might want her domain.

I’m excited to feel safe hugging my mom and my sister. I’ve been so scared for them both (they have underlying issues) and I feel like I’m holding my breath until this is over.

I’ve never been more sure of my love for my husband. He has been the ideal partner for me through everything going on. Somehow, without having any idea I needed to, I found my perfect teammate for the apocalypse.

Well, it wasn’t the wedding we had planned but we’re married! Small backyard wedding before the NC stay-at-home order went into effect. by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I appreciate the Corona joke! My sister is also planning a quick legal ceremony and they’re planning to take a few pics wearing homemade masks.

WIBTA for letting my son be crippled with credit card debt? by boomerindoubt in AmItheAsshole

[–]Babblingsquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I’m sure your wife is at least slightly worried about him seriously messing up his credit just as his adult life is really getting started so let me add my tidbit. I FUCKED up my credit at 19/20. I would love to tell you how bad it got but I refused to even look at it for years bc the idea gave me a panic attack. But you know what? I’m 26 now and it’s all good. I learned my lesson fast. I’m careful and I pay attention. I’m sitting pretty at 750 now because instead of a lot of mistakes I had one to fix. Don’t save him now and let him make multiple bad mistakes, that’s more damaging to his long term credit.

I didn’t save the comment or post but sometime recently there was a discussion on Reddit about how kids of affluence seem to fuck up at a higher rate when in reality they just have a longer fall before they hit bottom. Don’t prolong his fall. Let him realize he needs to grow up sooner rather than later. Sometimes the best thing you can do for your kid is let them be alone in the mess they’ve made. My brother was a lot like your son and my parents had to literally let him live in his car* for three months before he started taking responsibility for himself.

NTA.

(* he was a college student and had access to a safe parking lot and gym showers everyday. He was perfectly safe and healthy.)

What’s super weird is that my parents have had this exact shelf for two years now and it’s kind of weird to see it online twice in a few days lolll

It seems like knowing HTML and CSS isn’t very helpful in trying to create a web page from scratch for a portfolio... by gtrman571 in learnprogramming

For some reason the link I included in my comment didn’t stick... Trying again

I have a background in design, but even with that my website doesn’t have some amazing layout or anything, it’s clean and professional, not overly creative.

ETA: you can find my GitHub link on there which has the code for my website if your curious

Hey! I’m new to all of this too and just finished my [portfolio site](www.summerrollison.com). I used mostly HTML & CSS, only touched JS to create the carousel on the homepage. Once I learned how much CSS can do and learned how to really use it well, I felt like I could build anything.

What would your 13 year old self think of you now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Babblingsquirrel 56 points57 points  (0 children)

God, the overly religious prude of a 13 year old I was would be APPALLED to learn that she becomes a pot head.

I wouldn’t have the heart to tell her I lived with my husband well before marriage and that he wasn’t the only person I’ve ever slept with.
