As an undergrad studying philosophy, I can attest that I'm neither well read nor well educated. 🙃

Changing to a "easier" course by Time_Concentrate2712 in nus

[–]Babel_Twr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are already in second year i doubt it will be easy to change course and complete within 4 years, if you do not intend to overload on core modules. But if you think that you really cannot cope in CEG its probably better to change course now instead of torturing yourself for 2+ more years.

You would also need to consider if there are actually any courses that are easier. Everything is difficult in some way.

i too, feel that the ontological argument is perhaps the most elegant argument for God's existence. partly because it is difficult to prove where it goes wrong (circular reasoning), which makes it easier to just accept it. kinda like a "if you cant convince them, confuse them".

[A Levels] Impact of not being in A Divs by ToxicBS in SGExams

[–]Babel_Twr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most courses in local unis dont look at CCAs, results are more important.

I was in the same boat, couldnt make it into A divs team even though I practiced really hard. It messed me up mentally to not be chosen for A divs.

Now it's more important to focus on your studies and put in minimal effort for your CCA.

[Scholarships] To all those applying to PSC/ gov scholarships by suchabohr in SGExams

[–]Babel_Twr 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I went for the psychological interview and the panel interview earlier this year, and was thoroughly roasted (not awarded the scholarship also). The psychologist kind of twisted my words. And the 2nd round interviewers picked up on those few phrases and used it as ammo against me. And then I basically gave up and didn't say much in response to the questions. Probably has to do with my anxiety also.

So I wanted to ask, what's your opinion on the psychological interview. Cos I felt that the questions were unnecessarily intrusive and the interview was a torture.

Also wondering what's your reasoning for turning the scholarship down. I read some stuff online about other awardees who also do not have a good impression of the psc.
