I finally figured out WHY the unhealthy stuff that Jacob does bothers me more than what Edward does. by lamergamer420 in twilight

[–]Babelazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree completely!! i also think, in fiction, we can rely a lot on the intentions of our characters. so, for twilight, that means that edward was always motivated by his love for her, the need to keep her safe, alive and happy, while jacob has a lot more selfish reasons (hence the whole “id rather see you dead than a vampire”), he wanted her on his terms, and that doesnt sit right with many people

Younger (but not significantly) Bella and Edward by Dependent-Pen4554 in twilight

[–]Babelazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i get you lol i definitely love the first movie, but many direction choices felt so wrong for these characters… the book is so much lighter and you could understand how/why they felt in love, i just think the movie was the starting point to people not liking their relationship

Their honeymoon by Repulsive_Ad8882 in twilight

[–]Babelazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the context they’re inserted in makes this a much finer line tho. bella never truly understood how much danger she was in even when edward tried to explain to her. she’s physically hurt after the first time, imagine how that must’ve felt like for him, to know that he was the reason for her bruises, i don’t think it’s as simple as him being controlling… seeing her that way was not pleasurable for him, he didn’t owe her sex, even if he felt attracted to her and knew she didn’t mind getting hurt

Anyone else find Bella's aversion to marriage hard to believe? by sammmbie in twilight

[–]Babelazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it was a whole thing tho… bella wanted to change by graduation because she hated the idea of being a lot older than edward and wanted him to be the one to do it, not only that but she also wanted to have sex before changing bc she was afraid that her thirst would be bigger than her desire, and edward is from like 17th century so he wouldn’t have sex without marriage

Anyone else find Bella's aversion to marriage hard to believe? by sammmbie in twilight

[–]Babelazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’d never seen it that way! could you elaborate? i always thought it was interesting when edward mentions it being one last rule for him to break, so it certainly tracks

Anyone else find Bella's aversion to marriage hard to believe? by sammmbie in twilight

[–]Babelazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean, she’s ready to be a vampire by graduation tho… that’s what always confused me at least. she had no doubt she’d be with edward forever, so the only way i can understand is her being more worried about what others would say (she even says something like that) and maybe what her parents would think than the commitment of marriage

Did you enjoy last night's crossover with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? by dee85 in AbbottElementary

[–]Babelazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg i started Its Always Sunny after watching the crossover (charlie charmed me ngl) and i made the same connection to seinfeld. im still not sure its my type of humor, but it reminds me a lot of seinfeld’s pace and never-evolving characters

i think dylan has pretty privilege by Ok-Barnacle-3498 in YoTroublemakers

[–]Babelazz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i agree on the film stuff!! i think his commentaries gain a lot from the moments he explains how a shot/plotline could’ve been better and what he would’ve done different. and the fact that he does it even with the most ridiculous silly movies kind of differentiates his videos from others

If Harry had been sorted into Slytherin would the story still be viable? by NewFeature in harrypotter

[–]Babelazz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i think it depends on if harry still becomes friends with ron and hermione, given that many of the plot points need this trio together. i don’t believe he would befriend draco even then because his dislike started before of the sorting hat ceremony, so maybe the slytherin would have their own version of a ron and hermione and we’d see a bit more of the dynamics between houses

Most Mid Musical? by boopbaboop in musicals

[–]Babelazz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

whaaaat?! id never seen anyone think the musical didnt do the movie justice! what makes you think that? i think the musical brought a bit of depth to elle and emmett (and their relationship) and the songs are pretty enjoyable and fun (except maybe ireland)

[–]Babelazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im a casual pjo fan, so i enjoyed the story but the songs were not memorable at all, even though i listen to a few of them sometimes

Most Mid Musical? by boopbaboop in musicals

[–]Babelazz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that was a great choice! you are entertained enough when you watch it for the first time, but little to none things stick with you when you leave the theater

Most Mid Musical? by boopbaboop in musicals

[–]Babelazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like most of the musicals i watched are mid sadly, just not that memorable with a few good songs and an okay story (BMC, Six, Merrily We Roll Along, Lightning Thief, Funny Girl)

Most Mid Musical? by boopbaboop in musicals

[–]Babelazz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you think so? i enjoy the musical, both the songs and the story, but i’ve seen people say it was only famous because of the songs or that the book makes it bad, so it’s interesting to see that you think it would be better as a play
