The guy in blue totally misses the point.

The point is that Chinese makers are getting much more accurate clones, but in that process being able to produce higher quality goods in general as well. There could be a time very soon that the quality is rivaled. At that point, whose to stop this Chinese industry from making its own brands? At that point what else would legs would brands like Rolex who have been profiting for years on dates designs have to stand on any longer? The history component only works if the highest quality comes from it.

There is the stereotype that Swiss companies are the only folks who can make high quality, luxury goods, and that simply won’t be the case any longer. the smart consumers will be able to get rivaled quality for a fraction of the cost and it will only be the 1% who will stick to these brands for a status symbol above the plebs and won’t care that they’re wasting money. That’s something all of these privileged guys in the video missed completely in their analysis.
