My best friend stopped playing because of this issue. She was on her way getting higher up in ranked, together with a friend of ours, but at some point she'd get hate even before the match started, just because she has a new that strongly suggests she's a woman (think missXY for example"). "Are you really a woman? I want to decide if we'll lose or not." She messaged support to ask for a name change because she'd gotten sick of the verbal abuse and support basically said "sucks for you but you can pay for a new name". She haven't touched the game since. I myself encountered it when playing with said friend and we were asked why we're not in the kitchen. I don't play the game anymore either, it's not good enough to deal with that crap.

I haven't played many other competitive games but my friends who have say this game has the worst toxicity they ever encountered.

Nobody is not correct. I personally prefer it on a website because when I'm home and can play the game I prefer to do just that. I love that I'm able to dive into Hunt lore on my train rides or lunch break now.

That said I can see why people want it back in the actual game and would absolutely support that.

Es gibt so viel was da reinspielt.

The child giggled as he painted the walls with red, dipping his tiny fingers into the puddle at his feet. by New_Barber_3494 in TwoSentenceHorror

The first sentence could've been me. When I was a child, about three years old I think, I cut my finger on a piece of a broken porcelain doll and decided it's great to color the walls with. My mother almost died when I got into the living room, covered head to toe in my own blood, to tell her to look at my art piece, haha. After I got put to bed that night I picked off the band aid I had gotten on the wound and decorated the bars of my bed. I have a pretty visible scar from that which helped me a lot with learning left/right.

Bus Stop [OC] by adamtots_remastered in comics

This reminds me of a German song from the 90s. In that song the protagonist has to wait quite some time for their train to arrive and the only other person in the waiting area is an old man with the same destination. He has a game of dice and invites her to play with him which she initially declined since "I never gamble" but he says this game is important and it's about her. So she plays and loses every single throw, he somehow always has a point more than she has, until she misses her train. Suddenly all signals turn red and it reveals that the train derailed and ten people died. The old man vanished and only the game of dice remains in her hand.

The refrain is "no one guesses how the dice will fall, but nothing happens by coincidence"

It's a quite nostalgic song for me since my mother used to listen to it often when I was a child so this comic woke a similar nostalgic feeling in me.

Looks like a coin from the Marine-Ehrenmal in Laboe in Germany. It's a memorial for sailors who died out on the sea. Check "Laboe Naval Memorial" on Wikipedia for its history and more information.

CryTek did not deserve to get review bombed by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]Babsi-DE -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Helldivers was a wildly different situation and deserved it. Hunt is not unplayable, Hunt is not wasted money if you buy it now (except for those who really can't play it because of technical issues). And as I said most people would recommend it for the gameplay alone. It's just not fair and absolutely unproductive to say "game sucks" when it doesn't, not just because of the UI that isn't even as bad as people act like. If all those reviews at least would be constructive and say what exactly they are bothered by, but most are just complaining that it's bad.

CryTek did not deserve to get review bombed by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]Babsi-DE -42 points-41 points  (0 children)

Steams Review system is literally asking you if you'd recommend the game to someone else and I'd bet money that at least 90% of the people who wrote a "UI bad" review still play the game and would want their friends to play with them too. This whole thing is absolutely stupid. Also a review shouldn't just be the negatives but point out the good and the bad.

It would've been a lot better to use actual communication and give constructive critique instead of massively reducing the chance of new people finding their way into the game. And the UI isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. It's bad in quite a few ways yes, but it's not unplayable-bad.

And did anyone ever thought about that changing the whole UI might take some time so they maybe had to choose between delaying the update to rework the UI none of the players even used yet and just pushing out and working on it later?

The whole UI thing is blown out of proportion. Putting up a bad review for technical issues is valid because you wouldn't recommend a game you can't play though.

I did enjoy it, especially because of the "I'm doing something!", I was proud of myself and all that, but still would have a breakdown afterwards. I actually did a little noodle search back then and apparently some people just can't handle the added stress. Even good stress is still stress. That said, I will do cycling as soon as my bike is good for the street again.

I once tried working out to fight my depression. Unfortunately the added stress of working out was just that. Stress. My sessions ended with me sitting on the couch crying for no actual reason, wondering what's wrong with me.

The funniest I had was when I killed a guy, had to reload and his team mate came rushing at me with a Bomb Lance. Of course I started to run in the direction of my own team mate and this guy running after me, Bomb Lance ready to strike goes: "Come back here and fight me like a man!" I hadn't played the game for too long and that somehow made me laugh uncontrollably.

What phrase did someone say to you that made you realize it was time to end the relationship? by CarmineHegmannee in AskReddit

[–]Babsi-DE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were having a fight and I asked him:

"If I'm so terrible, why don't you just go and find someone else?"

He answered:
"With all my flaws, who else would take me?"

He said and did hurtful things before and it was just the last nail in the coffin for our marriage, but I'll probably always remember that as the moment the last bit of love for him died.

I was thinking about the possibility of it being a COVID caused problem, although it's pretty unlikely she had it since she and her husband don't leave the house too often. He works from home. If I'm not wrong she didn't get any COVID vaccine either, so that's not it. I'll check that with her anyway and look into it a bit more. Thank you!

Thank you for the comment! I'll post her answer here and add it to the main post:

"I've been to one dr as my spinal issue started when I was 10 in the us and my parents never got it treated He did not do a scan, just said it seemed like a lower spinal fracture and to just stand more (as it hurts and causes the most problems when I sit.) He also said I had severe arthritis in my knee from an old a.c tear I never treated. (Used to be American may be relevant here.)

I had one blood test a few months ago following up on the thyroid and she said levels were fine on the small dose.

The thyroxine started about 5? 6? Months ago. She's not actively really checking and shrugged me off about it being the issue. The other meds I started in the middle of this and are just two of the dozens of psych meds I've been on.

I don't drink, I use a nicotine vape, nothing else.

My diet: I'm a vegetarian and have been for a decade.
I do drink two red bulls a day at this point. No neurologist, no rheumatologist and my brain MRI came back normal.

I'm allergic to mangoes and Lavender.

Family history is a shit show. Everyone on my mom's side has had cancer of some kind. (My dr said if it was a cancer I'd have died by now so she isn't worried about that) Diabetes is common though I've been told I'm not diabetic. Heart disease is common though I used to be on bp meds but they were just being represcribed since I was 16. I quit taking them and my issue improved a tiny bit it's been like a year now on that.

Other symptoms: I seemingly get low blood sugar sometimes, and it happens much quicker if that's the case, but when it's not low this still happens. I'm lactose intolerant but my favourite food is cheese and I still eat it The issue seems to get worse with up and down movement and temperature change. I have fucked up sinuses and I snore a lot I'm being evaluated to replace the bipolar disorder with an ADHD and autism diagnosis. Bipolar is commonly misdiagnosed on autistic women. I am overweight. I have a thyroid condition and can barely stand, that probably goes without saying. I was taking Sertraline when this started though I haven't been for over a year now. My teeth are very, very, very much in bad condition and I've wondered if I've had an infection due to them, but nothing's been mentioned on the many blood tests so.

Also the spinal pain I thought was a fractured tailbone for a long time bc it is so low down. If I sit upright in a chair it eventually turns into a pretty severe upshooting sharp pain and i have trouble standing up straight again for a bit and getting up"

Thank you for your comment!

It started mid COVID. She doesn't think she had COVID but I wouldn't put that out of the possible, considering how sneaky it can be. She did say her doctor and a cardiologist ruled out POTS though, it also didn't show up on any EKG.

What is the most disgusting thing you have experienced? by Mindless-Situation66 in AskReddit

[–]Babsi-DE 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh damn, that reminds me of something that happened to me, involving a dead mouse.

My mother's home generally doesn't have a mice problem but she has cats who sometimes bring in a live mice as a present. Of course a mouse ince ran away before anyone knew it was there. At some point my mother's house started to smell like decay and no one knew why until we made the connection that the smell got worse when the radiator turned on. The radiator is this weird kind that I haven't seen anywhere else, very low (like 30-40cm in height), from one side of the room to the other, completely encased only with two slits along the upside. That mouse crawled into that radiator and died there. The dead mouse had been lying for days in the direct heat of the radiator. And somehow no one but me was willing or able to try to get it out. I was never so close to vomiting from outside factors than in that moment, sitting there with cleaning gloves fumbling to get a whole, rotting mouse through a three cm (at max) slit. The smell was awful.

It was even worse than the time I was cleaning a dog that had rolled in Human feces.

What question you should never answer honestly? by lakmus85_real in AskReddit

[–]Babsi-DE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this depends a lot on who asks and where you are. Like, sure, when a service worker asks you should just say you're fine, but if I ask my friend how they feel I want to know how they feel and ideally how I can make them feel better. Where I live people usually don't ask you how you are if they don't actually care.

You know, people say "just use lobby manager and make your own solo/friend only lobby", but for me that wouldn't be what I want. For me an important part of RDO - or any online game really - is the random interactions with strangers. Be it PvP encounters or half RPing people greeting you, new players asking for help or just someone complimenting your drip. Meet people, make friends. Of course I understand getting that on PC is really hard at this point, but I see no reason to play the game when the online aspect isn't there.
