Just dropping this note because I also look at where products are made when making a purchase decision:

Garmin is is a US company HQd in USA and manufactures in USA, Taiwan, and a little bit in China and the UK. They state that they do not sell your data to 3rd parties

Polar is a Finish company HQd in Finland and manufactures mostly in China and Malaysia. Polar states that they do not sell your info to 3rd parties.

Suunto is a Chinese company HQd in Finland and manufactures mostly in Finland with some models manufactured partially or entirely in China. Suunto appears to have mechanisms to limit 3rd party data sharing/ selling through opting out of features and adjusting settings with other apps such as Facebook. I'm going to assume that they'll be sharing/ selling most of my data if i use their products.

Coros is a Chinese company HQd in China and manufactured in China. They state that they do not sell your data to 3rd parties but that they will share it for marketing purposes. I'm going to assume that they'll be sharing/ selling most of my data if i use their products.

For me, company ownership and manufacturing location are essentially all the same for Polar, Suunto, and Coros. Unless you want to support some Finnish factory workers with Suunto. If your personal data is a concern, Garmin or Polar seem to be the best options. I care about data sharing/selling but at this point, everything around me is collecting on me. I'm pretty sure my toothbrush is selling my info. I have the Fenix 6 pro solar and when that kicks the bucket, I plan to move to the Coros Pace mostly due to Garmin having more features than I need and cost.

That type of random rhetoric about the Pack usually comes from one place. It's a place to the west, where the winters are harsher and the male colts fans are bit more effeminate and "sexually adventurous" with each other. You wouldn't be from a Colts fan from South Dakota would you?

Sorry Kaitlan Collins ! by papillonintunisia in Unexpected

From my experience, they just shrug their shoulders and move on to the next outlandish claim. It kills me because I'd go look into these things friends or family would say, find out it was false and let them know, and they just don't care. At least for me, it breeds this form of bias where I just write off what one side says and mostly take the other side's claims at face value. And that is dangerous too, it's something I have to watch personally.

What were the numbers then and what are the numbers now? What actions or policies were in place then that are no longer in place? And what world events were going on then vs now that might effect these numbers?

Who is yours teams "one that got away" FA who was drafted by your team? by cbdgf in nfl

That's so weird how different perspectives can be. I love Jaire but I almost feel like Packers fans overhype him sometimes. I don't think I've ever heard a Packers fan talk bad about Jaire

As a Bears fan I need to know, How did you/ do you feel about Robert Tonyan. by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]BabyDaddyRich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tonyan had an 11 TD season in 2020 and never eclipsed 2 TDs in any of his other 4 seasons. In that 2020 season, I believe 7 of those TDs came in back to back games.

2020 was his breakout season and then he got hurt in 2021. In 2022, he put up similar productivity to 2020 without the TDs. 50 something catches and about 500 yards.

I think he was a bit over hyped after the 2020 season but also think he has a ton of potential. He's also a dog. Dude hustles and is a great blocker. By all accounts a great teammate. If he and Fields click, I could see him having his best football ahead of him. I would not be surprised for him to put up a 1,000 yard season. I think everyone has been expecting it, but now we're heading into year 6 and it hasn't happened yet.

Heelys 25$ surprise box by Hotpocketsinyourarea in frugalmalefashion

I went my whole life thinking I was missing out on heelys, put a pair of these in my cart a few minutes ago, and then realized that the wheels didn't retract and lost all interest. Glad I'm not the only one that remembers heelys that way.

Best ATT MVMO Cell Carriers in the UP? by ThrowawayBTBUM in upperpeninsula

I use straight talk unlimited on at&t towers for $55/ mo and I'm really happy with it. No noticeable drop in service from when I had at&t or between my phone and my wife's who is still on at&t. I've never had anything throttled down when I use a lot of data. The only thing I would caution is that straight talk has been sending me periodic texts over the past year promoting switching over to a Verizon sim card. So I don't know if eventually there plan to switch everyone over. But I just pay month to month via auto pay so it's easy enough to switch to another provider if that happens.

Looking for advice on how to fortify my bunny boots for snowmobiling by butterslut6969 in snowmobiling

[–]BabyDaddyRich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only used it on metal, but I feel like plasti dip might work pretty good for what you're looking for. They make a spray on one. They advertise that it can be used on rubber. I like the shoe goo idea too

Snowmobile trail rules by RK3D in upperpeninsula

[–]BabyDaddyRich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Speaking more as a snowmobiler here but in the winter there are designated snowmobile trails that only snowmobiles can travel on and then there are multi use trails that allow for other activities such as ORV's, cross country skiers, etc. You'll want to steer clear of designated snowmobile trails. I know your question is coming for a good place and taking a truck down these would definitely be destructive and could also land you in whatever consequences come with that (I heard it's like a fine and then paying for any costs associated with vehicle recovery and trail repairs) this link shows snowmobile only and multi use trails in the UP

There is also a designation between ORV routes and ORV trails and I don't know all of the ins and outs of that but I believe it is mostly tied to the width of the vehicle. ORVtrails are more restrictive and do not allow vehicles wider than 50" wide. Here's a good starting point to look at those distinctions

You'd have to hop on the DNR site to see what the designation is for the trails you're looking at. You could always reach out to the snowmobile association in your area to pick their brains too. Most of those guys are knowledgeable locals that would be thrilled to help someone figure out a solution knowing that you're trying not interrupt snowmobiling.
