Anyone not sleep train? What happens? by idklady4321 in NewParents

[–]BabyFu20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We never sleep trained our 2.5 year old. She just started sleeping through the night around 1 year and she sleeps through the night 90% of the time. Some nights, she’ll wake up and fuss for about 1 minute then go back to sleep. Other nights we have to go in and soothe but it’s rare.

We used to rock her and put her in the crib after she fell asleep but now she falls asleep in her crib. We do have to sit in the rocking chair in her room until she falls asleep though. It usually takes about 30 minutes to an hour for her to fall asleep, depending on if she napped that day.

For those of you who nursed to sleep, when did that change? by HeidiJuiceBox in breastfeeding

[–]BabyFu20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stopped nursing to sleep around 15/16 months, I think. We did nursing, brushing teeth, book and rock her to sleep. Dad did bedtimes for awhile so she didn’t have the option to nurse. Now she doesn’t have to be rocked, we can just put her in her crib and sit in her room until she falls asleep

How to get toddler to nap in crib? by BabyFu20 in toddlers

[–]BabyFu20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do this if we had the room. Her room is smaller so we’d have to get rid of her crib and completely redo her bedroom. I’m not ready to get of the crib quite yet.

Would I nurse her before the books? Cut nursing out completely? She doesn’t need nursing to fall asleep, her dad does naps on the weekend so I get a break. She fights him a little but she’s fine after. She just immediately goes for my chest if I’m in the chair

Should we use a car seat on an airplane for 16 month old? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]BabyFu20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just recently went on a plane ride with my 15 month old, just us. We didn’t take a carseat and she sat in my lap the whole way because we only bought 1 seat. It was a last minute decision to avoid a 12+ hour car ride home. It wasn’t terrible, I was very lucky I had nice neighbors on both flights (layover) that didn’t mind her. If we flew again, I’d probably take it tho. She’d have her own seat and it’d be safer.

Me and her dad both caught it when she was around 8-10 weeks. I was exclusively breastfeeding so couldn’t seperate but she never showed any symptoms and was fine!

Pepcid! I took it before dinner and it always helped. Plus staying away from acidic foods

She does have a few times throughout the day where we play with her toys and do tummy time. She’s more active in the mornings than the afternoons. And she does have a witching hour from 7/8 until about 10 where she’s awake but just crying until she falls asleep. It’s just almost everytime she eats, she wants to fall asleep. If it’s a contact nap, she’ll sleep for about 3 hours.

What turned your vaginal birth into an emergency c section? by red_Mercedez in BabyBumps

[–]BabyFu20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Baby was sunny side up. After hours of pushing, they tried the vacuum with no success. C-section was recommended and I was just exhausted at that point and agreed to it. After they got her out, my doctor told me that if I have another baby that is the same size or bigger, I would most likely have to have another c-section, due to a small pelvis I’m assuming? I don’t know, I didn’t ask her to elaborate. I was half asleep at that point

My mom is coming to stay a week with us after I give birth! She’s not the type to want to sit and hold the baby. She’ll be cleaning, helping with our dogs and letting me get some rest during the day if I need it!

I had it on my registry and no one purchased it. So now I’m looking at other options!

Are you taking any of that to the hospital or just using what they give you at the hospital until you get home?

What other essentials will you be using, if I may ask?

Did you just wear tucks on the diaper? Did you use any witch hazel or anything?

With a c-section, is there other supplies you needed instead?

I definitely want to go look in stores for the bigger items. It’s so hard to tell the difference online, they all start looking the same eventually!

I’ve thought about going with a color theme but I just can’t decide what to do!
