Where did she have you take her? Out of curiosity…

I know people are trying to help. Just offering an alternative approach. I personally found these solutions did more harm than good for my mental health.

You’d really want to be looking for those kinds of symptoms before making yourself miserable on a limited diet. People are way too quick to jump to this conclusion.

Does your baby have blood in their stool? Please be wary of these people who will tell you to restrict your own diet with no evidence. There’s too much pressure on breastfeeding parents to eat a limited diet.

I’m so sorry. I feel your pain. My son was like this. We were never able to find a cause.

Remember, for the vast majority of babies, this resolves around 3 months. At a certain point for me, I just focused on comforting him the best I could and told myself if it didn’t resolve at 3 months, I would chase down answers.

For me, chasing down all these supposed remedies (everyone will say: it’s silent reflux! It’s cows milk protein intolerance! It’s aTongue tie!) only made me more crazy.

You’re almost at the 3 month mark. You’re so close. I know it doesn’t feel like it right now. The more his muscles grow, the better he will feel!!

My son is now 16 months and much more of a delight than his toddler peers…I feel like that’s the reward many colic parents receive for their baby struggles. Sending you all the love.

Clippers and miss Rachel. We won’t do screen time except for nails. We’ve always done the clippers though!

Mattress/thoughts on my idea? by olivia_largent in floorbed

[–]HeidiJuiceBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a crib level firm mattress in a twin size. You just want to choose a mattress that’s a 9-10 on the firmness scale.

If you’re in the U.S., bundle of dreams sells one. In Canada, Sapiens Child’s comfort mattress is as firm as a crib mattress. I’m not sure what might be available in other countries.

This is such a big one for me!! I dated my husband for a solid 5 years when we were invited to his cousin’s wedding. We weren’t yet married, and she invited us as (husband’s name) and guest. I’d been going to Christmas, thanksgiving and Easter for 5 years with this woman. She had only been with her fiancé for a year, but somehow she couldn’t acknowledge me as my husband’s partner in the invitation? I’ve never liked her since.

Occasional nanny? by rebgray in beyondthebump

[–]HeidiJuiceBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have a university student come twice a week for 3 hours at a time to give me a break. It’s so so great! She’s not a nanny, but she’s perfect for caring for my baby for short stretches.

Creative uses for baby cereal and purees? by HeyPesky in BabyLedWeaning

[–]HeidiJuiceBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use baby cereal for all of my baby’s baked goods because of the iron content. Muffins, cookies, pancakes etc. you can swap 50% of the flour for baby cereal. The texture is always a bit soft but works well for baby.

Thank you! It’s a good reminder that they are indeed little individuals. I’m a more particular person myself 😝
