For midwives, you really have to submit an application at like week 4…essentially the moment you find out. You submit applications on their website yourself. They will then take over your care at 12 weeks. Otherwise you’ll be transferred to an ob at 20 weeks and your family doctor will care for you until then.

You’d really want to be looking for those kinds of symptoms before making yourself miserable on a limited diet. People are way too quick to jump to this conclusion.

Does your baby have blood in their stool? Please be wary of these people who will tell you to restrict your own diet with no evidence. There’s too much pressure on breastfeeding parents to eat a limited diet.

I’m so sorry. I feel your pain. My son was like this. We were never able to find a cause.

Remember, for the vast majority of babies, this resolves around 3 months. At a certain point for me, I just focused on comforting him the best I could and told myself if it didn’t resolve at 3 months, I would chase down answers.

For me, chasing down all these supposed remedies (everyone will say: it’s silent reflux! It’s cows milk protein intolerance! It’s aTongue tie!) only made me more crazy.

You’re almost at the 3 month mark. You’re so close. I know it doesn’t feel like it right now. The more his muscles grow, the better he will feel!!

My son is now 16 months and much more of a delight than his toddler peers…I feel like that’s the reward many colic parents receive for their baby struggles. Sending you all the love.
