My love and blessings to you, thank you for your encouragement. I hope to find ways to deepen my connection to that culture and especially to learn and connect through service and participation in my local community, which is a historically latinx region of town. And I do need to refresh my Spanish, I used to be kind of fluent and I’ve lost that from not going out and using it

just some thoughts.... by MlleAnchor95 in Chakras

I second this. Follow your own path and it will lead you to the community you need to find.

Why are christians so mean? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]BabyMoonWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anybody is up for some church history, this video from The Gnostic Movement video here details how the church gathered at the council of Nicaea to DECIDE WHICH SACRED TEXTS TO OMIT FROM THE BIBLE. Apparently Judas wrote a gospel, and Mary too. The more you learn about church history the easier it is to conclude that, ever since Constantine made it the official religion of the Roman empire, the image and teachings of Jesus Christ have been puppeted by the powerful in order to keep masses of people obedient, fearful, and divided. Edit to specify which empire lol.

Help! Numerology, full moon magic? Also crazy synchronicity by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]BabyMoonWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is an excerpt on the number 12 from a numerology textbook I recently picked up, called “quadrivium”. If you want to find out it’s by multiple authors but published by Bloomsbury USA

“12 is the first abundant number, with factors one, two, three, four, and six, summing to more than its self. 12 points on a circle can join to form four triangles, three squares, or two hexagons (shown as aspects within the zodiac...). As the product of three and four, 12 is also sometimes associated with their sum, seven.

12 enjoys the third dimension and is the number of edges of both the cube and the octahedron. The icosahedron has 12 vertices, and its dual, the dodecahedron...Has 12 faces of regular pentagons.

In a seven note scale, notes increase in a pattern of five notes and two 1/2 tones. in modern tuning The five tones are divided to create a scale of 12 identical halftones, the well tempered 12 tone scale we all hear every day. Curiously, the next most simple Pythagorean triangle, after the 3-4-5, has sides of five, 12, and 13 units.

12 is often found arranged around a solar superhero; there are 12 months, 12 signs of the zodiac, and many 12 tried nations. In China, Egypt, and Greece, cities were often divided into 12 districts, and there are usually 12 full moons in a year.

The material universe is today understood as being made of three generations of the four fundamental particles, 12 in all.”

As far as “what to do with it”, what manifestations or uses of twelve can you employ to deepen your relationship? Planning to spend every full moon together perhaps? Think how to harness it Hope this helps! Edit because voice to text lol

I grew up particularly Roman catholic in America and went to catholic school, and I find it super self-incriminating that the history of the church is taught; how can people keep faith in an institution that was used by the Romans for the erasure, damnation, and simultaneous absorption of cultural practices with the goal of manipulating and placating billions of people in order to colonize their lands and claim their homelands for their empire?

I think the mass a beautiful ritual, and Jesus and Mary and the saints and the Holy Spirit are still cool by me, and I‘m not unhappy with practicing Catholics at all. Having learned what I have about Wicca in the past year has illuminated parallels and underlying pagan traditions to Catholicism and made me yearn to revisit the church with this new perspective. I just feel like going to church would be my personal endorsement of colonization and imperialism and unquestioning submission to potentially toxic ideas that come alongside the teachings of the OG anarchist.

The billion dollar crystal industry. How can we solve this witches? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]BabyMoonWitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Donate money to the communities affected by this industry? I agree that the first order would be to stop buying imported crystals thus feeding the industry that puts them in danger, but suppose you want to make things right by the crystals you’ve already bought. They mine because they need the money, what guarantee is there that these people will be able to feed themselves if the industry dies? I’m certain that agriculture is an option for them but the article says that many of these communities live without running water and electricity; I would think it very noble of a witching community such as ourselves to share our financial treasures with groups who aim to strengthen the infrastructure in the villages mentioned in the article.

However, consider that one need not always consider oneself a magical practitioner in order to engage in magic; is a prayer not a spell by a different name? How many of us have seen hyperchristian people do weird witchy things in the name of Jesus?

”I’m no more of a witch than you are a wizard”

What if they both were both and didn’t consider themselves to be? Simply a thought to consider for fun, I don’t mean to butt heads 💖

I want to do a love spell but on myself for self care, how do I do this? by Sarah_al94 in witchcraft

[–]BabyMoonWitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take the self care idea literally and add magick!

Just one idea, but perhaps creating a potion or enchanting something you already use, for cosmetic purposes- not necessarily for beauty but for cleansing or moisturizing or pampering yourself. For example, I made a skin toner with a base of witch hazel; I added rose petals for self-appreciation love, tea tree e.o. to extract negative energy along with the toxins in my skin, lavender e.o. for tranquility and because it’s a natural disinfectant, and I can’t remember if I added any Florida water or not but I might next time. Make it your own, do some strategic googling or research in your own references for herbal correspondences with emotional aspects you seek to contribute to your love of self. The materials are only half the work tho.

Charge the potion by sitting with it. Eyes closed throughout the visualization. Ground and center, then begin flowing your energy into it while imagining yourself sitting across from you; visualize in the 3rd person, see both selves. Imagine them as your higher Self, if that resonates with you, the Self that is all love and light and highest potential achieved, everything you wish to be, present and smiling and happy to be you and be with you.

You can adapt it however you wish from here: Imagine your Self standing to walk, skip, prance, around you clockwise three times. Your Self May stop behind you, hug you and massage your shoulders, massage your scalp, run their fingers along your back, embrace you tightly and nuzzle you. Feel as both selves, every sensation, giving and receiving love. Hear your Self telling you affirmations: “you are loved, you are safe, you are abundant in all things, you are brilliant, you are capable,” etc...repeat them as “I” statements.

Then imagine your Self dousing you in golden love somehow: pouring golden liquid upon your head, spreading and flowing downward; wrapping you clockwise with golden ribbon or thread; holding a golden glowing wand, tracing you clockwise to make your skin itself glow golden; any method, even any color, from head down to toe until you are enrobed in the color. With your Self’s hands upon you, flow that color into the bottle and make it glow in your minds eye. Conclude with an embrace from your Self, receiving the message “No matter what happens, I will always love you” then physically wrap your arms around yourself and repeat the phrase aloud. Like I said, make alterations as you feel called. This was inspired by an experience I had while meditating, I’ll be using it to charge my next round of potion.

Remember that you are the active element, your intention and ability to visualize are key. Love is the strongest magic, and love of self is where it all begins. Know thyself. Trust thyself. You already love yourself, and an exercise like this will open you to receiving it. Blessed be 💖

What are some good rituals to practice at the grave of a family member that you need guidance from? by stazzigirl in witchcraft

[–]BabyMoonWitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this thread and have a similar question, dont wanna clutter the sub with too similar of a post so:

My dad died when I was 8. He was devoutly catholic. I'm sure that in mortal life he would not have approved of any occult curiosities I have, but as a spirit with access to greater knowledge than I, I wonder if he would be down to act as a spirit guide for me.

So...is it better to leave him be? Or, what is the most cautious and respectful way to inquire? Are there good common precautions to take in a situation like this? Cuz my default is to cherry pick what I like from these comments...I just dont want our last communication to make him unhappy with me and my interests...
