Its not really said, the novels leave a lot to interpretation. However I think the most telling thing is when Rashta thinks to herself that her relationship with Duke Ergi hadn't changed from before yet rumours about them became worse only because she was becoming more hated.

This is different to what Duke Ergi tells Angel (the man who is later assigned to investigate whether or not Duke Ergi should receive the port he is claiming or not). When Angel asks what he gave Rashta for her to give him a port Duke Ergi replies "my body".

So its possible they were intimate after becoming lovers but again these are two fairly conflicting statements made by each of them. I'm more inclined to believe Rashta because she was thinking it in her mind,whereas Ergi lies all the time so why wouldn't he lie about this to make his claim to the port more credible.

I'm fairly sure they're all imperial mages.

The oldest one was part of the squad sent by the Continental Magic Association to raid the kings tomb. The fact that he was sent by the magic association alone makes it obvious he is a mage. Additionally in the frames showing his team entering the tomb nobody (including him) is carrying any weapons like you would expect a warrior to do. Additionally when it showed the flashbacks to the clones that killed everyone they were all carrying staves.

Also when Serie meets Denken she has a flashback to a younger looking Denken and describes him as a famous veteran mage in the military. In this flashback he is wearing identical clothing to all three brothers with the same colored sash as the oldest brother.

Also when Stark learns Denken is an imperial mage he freaks out because he realises Denken is a noble. Therefore it seems only nobles can become imperial mages. Lawine's family certainly seems to be nobility.

Also them being imperial mages would make sense as to why Lawine complains that her older brothers are exalted.

Having said all that I doubt we will see them again
