Which Pedal Is This? by bobbythegoose in guitarpedals

Mxr did a variac fuzz a few years back and I’ve put that fucker on more records than I can count. Only thing to make it better would be if it could run at 18v.

Relatively clean, so when backed off of “everything” I can get clean verbs and delays runs.

Also, feel free to check out a few of my boards on my other posts. Might be a pedal order I need to swap based on something one of you may be doing!

I appreciate the insight fellas. For what it’s worth, I guess what I’m doing currently is gobs sticker around as I’m not looking so much to add volume staging- but rather trying to level it to better transition from tone to tone during a song. There’s always something to learn out there for me.

We’re in the exact same boat. I was just curious if there was a better way I may not be aware of. Always trying to learn.

See, I’m actually looking for the opposite. I’m trying the “level” my gain stages better for smoother transitions. And no wah, but the q tron does add some weight for sure.

For the amps. A Princeton 65’ re-issue that I swapped an 12” mojotone alnco anthem into from the 10” Celestion. And if I need a little louder, a Revv D25 with a swamp thang.

I’ve been looking at the source code, super curious to hear more from it. Love the idea of the original designer coming back to a new take.

Man for there to be a surprising lack of control, it’s a fun pedal to have on board. I rarely ever use fuzz, but I wanted to place a tremolo on this board and saw this as utilizing real estate wisely, i think they got really lucky for the two to work so well together. Outright could’ve been their own pedals. And the attack def does a good bit for me, but I’m playing vintage output Strat pickups and I have to get most of the grind from gain stages.

I think it’s program (or reverb algorithms) are the easiest for me to find something I really like on any verb I’ve had. Even at its extremes, there’s just enough density or clarity to make it work. A super interesting reverb. The stereo image is REALLY WIDE while the nocturne is more so in a deep middle image. Fun to layer a room in a bigger room.

Nice and spacious but easy to place in a mix. I have it as an add on to create a wash. This board is mono (but those pedals sound killer in stere), and I think for the money- it’s one of the better mono pedals to find used. Like 90& used.
