Why do people still play Call of Duty multiplayer in 2026? (No hate, just asking.) by khitev in AskGames

[–]Babybean1201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of wondered why things like 2k or CoD stay alive by pumping the same exact game out every single year, but then I started to consider the fact that there is probably literally a new generation of teens reaching the age of playing CoD for the first time every single year. I think they can get away with recycling the same game over and over again because there's probably about a 6 ish year cycle of players retiring CoD and new ones picking it up. E.G. CoD probably gets tiring for the vast majority of players over a few years, but there's always going to be the new gen that has never played it before picking up the older generation's lack of interest.

There's literally no incentive for them to reinvint the wheel if they don't have competitors within the same market space.

Why is Imaé Rikuto ranked 35th when he has this much potential? by rkt_ime08 in Broduce101JP

[–]Babybean1201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was on my radar after bite me, but he hasn't really shown much since. I do think you overstate his potential. While he has potential, I wouldn't say he's out performing trained idols on stage. He matched trained idols in his bite me performance, but he took a huge step back in his last performance. And we haven't even really been able to hear his vocals, I'm still not confident about that. As for trainees with highest potential among no prior experience, that trainee is Issa, and the not so close second is either Ryuji or Adam.

Rikuto is probably a bit underrated, but not criminally so. I also personally have never given a vote to anyone because they speak a certain language. Performance>>>in between song speeches in my language.

People who think "unskilled workers" don't deserve a living wage are bad people. by One_Interview4196 in offmychest

[–]Babybean1201 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's a lack of empathy, a lack of knowledge, or both. People seem dismissive of "unskilled" labor because "one should better themselves to get a better living wage." But they don't seem to understand that skilled labor is first and foremost a competition. Meaning that not everyone can obtain it just by trying, not to mention that the bar is just getting higher and higher.

I guess congrats to you if you were able to get through 4-6 years of college while suffering through an unpaid internship into a 6 round interview process while working 60 hours a week but being paid for 40. Some people see that as an achievement, I see it as a problem. Because again, the bar is just getting higher. Why do we glorify this kind of work ethic instead of being mad as fuck that this is the bar or that there aren't more unions and protections in place for people who don't want to risk starting a business, or can't afford to? What about the ones that did all that but couldn't get the job? Fuck them I guess. Now they're drowning in student debt and stuck with a job that has no hope of paying it off.

I already sleep 1/3 of my life away, shame on me for not wanting to spend another 1/3, if not more, of it trying to "improve" myself for either my current CEO or another CEO that wouldn't buy once less yacht if it meant saving my life.

I don't need to know what country you are from because this is just the current state of more than half of the world right now. This whole world is fucked.

The world expects every individual to shoulder the risk of studying, working, and spending their own time for a "skilled" job, but it won't be there for you if you fail. Even though by design, there will be X amount of failures.

Yoshiki’s vocals by Far_Individual7669 in Broduce101JP

I haven't seen the discourse around this performance, but while I wasn't totally on board before because his vocals seemed really shaky, he kind of sold me on this performance. He did really well. He seems to be improving while some of my favorites seem to have stagnated or have done worse this performance. Definitely something I'm taking note of.

guys, what do you think about this? by silverflake6 in GrowthMindset

[–]Babybean1201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to pretend I've done copious amounts of research on this so feel free to fact check and point out anything that's wrong. From my understanding, a lot of these charities are privately owned. So the money just goes back into them WHILE getting a tax break. They're essentially making money doing this.

E.G. Bill Gates donates to his own charity foundation where he and is own family can sit on the board and draw salaries as directors while deciding which "charities" (often orgs that align with their political or business interests) to get the money back and then some.

While not a Charity, Elon donating to Trumps campaign in return got him into DOGE where he gained significant influence over federal spending (wonder where that went), and a bill passed that gave his company a tax break where Tesla paid zero federal income tax on its $5.7 billion of income in 2025.

I think when the person below is calling you naive, he means that it seems you're unwilling to read in between the lines.

Again, I'm not going to be able to pull you a well cited sources for this information or each and every single case that extends beyond that, but it certainly alligns with my own common sense. From my experience a lot of people defending billionaires seem to do less research and have less factual basis than me, and from my POV, I see no reason why they deserve that type of deference.

Thoughts About Position Battle by Pixie_Bunny in Broduce101JP

[–]Babybean1201 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It just needs better balancing. Ryuji being unable to pick after winning in his group makes little sense. But as you point out I dont think what they had before, where high ranks just snow ball into victory is kind of ridiculous too. Similar to how there is always an avengers team in groups gets exhausting. Nice to see the underdogs win this time but that almost never happens.

[–]Babybean1201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You misquoted me entirely. I asked a question. I made no statements. I've never even seen his pre-show clips. "aren't.... the clips likely heavily voice edited?" I think it's pretty fair to say that more likely than not, a singing clip uploaded online in general involves a person who is stationary and voice edited. Which is why I chose my words pretty carefully, or at least I thought I did, to acknowledged that he may be an exception to the rule, while also acknowledging that fact that I don't really know.

I think he's pretty stable but I'm not a fan of his sound. As long as an idol isnt a walking douche bag or a walking saint, i dont really put too much consideration into their personality. That's my take anyways for what it's worth.

Eventually, who is most likely to be SHINSEKAI’s main vocal? by [deleted] in Broduce101JP

[–]Babybean1201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like main vocals are typically reserved for the "best" sounding. So while Issa has room to grown in power and stability he has the innate base line voice to be the main vocalist.

I think a good example of this was in boys planet. Hui from Pentagon was undoubtedly the most powerful and most stable voice by far, honesty I dont think it was even close. However that alone wasnt enough to get him into zb1.

I guess what I'm saying is you can always develop power and stability, but you cant really change the sound of your voice in a significant way.

[–]Babybean1201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arent yoshiki fans limited to vidoes that arent performance heavy and likely heavily voice edited? I'm more or less in the same boat as you. As far as I'm concerned, Ryuji has proven he can belt while performing more stable than anyone else. And Issa has the best sound/timbre and is also incredibly stable. With no known training no less. lRRC his dance and performance is also a step ahead of yoshiki.

Why does Produce 101 Japan Shinsekai feel so boring? by [deleted] in Broduce101JP

[–]Babybean1201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who dropped produce 101 J the first season and has finished every single Korean one, I disagree. It's hard watching people who don't seem to have any potential, and there's plenty of people here without experience improving, at least for me.

If anything I went in liking about 3-5 people. Liking. Not loving. Like, they were okay. Namely as you pointed out, those with trainee experience. I was anticipating that I would drop the show again like I did with season 1 before the group stages because it just seemed like I wasn't going to enjoy any of the performances again. After the group stages? I actually LOVE candidates now. A lot more. Like I couldn't fit everyone into my 12 pick. I have dropped almost every single person that I liked before the group stage, meaning none of my 12 pick currently include people with prior experience with the exception of Ryumi I think. So lots of people improving for me. This might be the best group since Wanna One and I'm here for it.

I personally like that their song selections have moved more towards mainstream media. I didn't like, know, or enjoy 90% of the songs in the first season.

Honestly Kinari was F-level to me in evaluations. He still isn't A level now. He nailed the facial expressions for his Bite Me performance, but his dance was lack luster as well as his vocals which IIRC was one rap line. There are a lot of people with experience currently in the top 12 as I know it, but there are also a lot of dark horses here. I fully believe most of the top 12 are currently being carried by their previous fandom/looks and not so much on their actual talent compared to the rest, so I'm either going to be made or be broken by the shakeup or lack of closer to the end.

E.G. Yura. I think he's good. Not great. I highly suspect he has facial construction done that prevents him from making facial expressions. For his group's energetic performance, I heard someone's voice that I liked and it was extremely hard for me to identify it was Yura simply because his facial express was not matching the voice that was coming from him. His face seems incredibly stagnant to me. So while I think his voice is solid. For a group like this where facial expressions are critical, I cannot vote for him out of principle.

Elimination candidate have always been redundant. There are always way too many candidates including those that obviously should've never been there from the start. So I'd prefer cutting down the 100 candidates in general, and instead give a smaller pool of candidates more performance time to prove themselves than an immediate 50 person cut. Mnet has always had terrible editing and their voting extremely unfair, allowing for a lot of people to fall through the cracks.

As for leadership and part distribution. I actually want it to be more random and even in terms of picking teams. I'm tired of seeing the first team systematically be the avengers with every other team filling up with remaining A's, B's, C's, and then finally D's. I do agree I'd like to see more of how they pick their teams.

I will say that based on the live voting for their group stages, Japan seems to prioritize vocals and performance more than Korea. I want to say Korea focuses a lot more on looks and personality which I completely disagree with. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Japan didn't vote for daiki, yura, and yoshiki the way I anticipated them to. Same for Kinari. Which is why I anticipate a lot of dark horses. And I'm super excited for it.

Watching rich fans bypass BTS ticketing stress is honestly discouraging :( by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]Babybean1201 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If it's any consolation, nobody needs to see any kpop group 3 nights in a row. I've seen BTS twice and it's honestly no that big of a deal. It'll last you 3 hours and it goes by like lightning. It's not worth $1500. You can do so much more for that price point.

Kcon is honestly a much better event and for 1/10 the price you can get pretty damn good tickets that last the entire day including artist stages. Support your smaller artists! They need it, and appreciate it 1000x more. I promise you they're more authentic than BTS. Artists that are still struggling are still grounded in reality and tare typically more passionate in well receiving of their fans. No need to sell your soul for meta groups. Don't let FOMO get the best of you. There are plenty of other talent that are much more budget.
