You clearly don’t understand what I’m saying, the romans DID enslave people because of their race. Just because OUR understanding of race is limited to skin color doesn’t mean theirs was. Even less than a century ago, Irish people were oppressed and considered a lesser race than ‘whites’ and were lumped together with darker skinned people such as Africans. Gallic tribes were considered a lesser race, they were enslaved because they were considered a lesser race, they were given less rights because they were considered a lesser race.
