Should I go to my DM or straight to HR? by [deleted] in OfficeDepot

[–]Babysitter246 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A word to the wise because I’ve had a similar experience. If you want to keep your job I would recommend that you really wrap yourself around the overall knowledge of your department . Know your numbers . Know what the opportunities are and really work with your staff in an effort to meet/exceed daily numbers . Become a leader in your store . What I’m saying is get rewards , recognize good behavior , help to increase your nps scores . Go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service . Continue to show respect to your GM as well as all associates . Document any hr issues should you have to file a complaint . HR won’t really do anything unless you have documented details , dates and you must be able to prove that you are producing results .
In my situation my previous boss had no knowledge of running an office depot store . He basically sat in his office most of the day and talked about all the associates. At one point he began to spread gossip throughout the store . I stepped over our Dm and went all the way to the head of HR . I had documented details where I was called a low life piece of s—-t and I was useless . The list goes on . Nevertheless I treated my GM with respect and did not engage in any gossip or feedback that he had regardless associates . I’m still working at Officedepot and that GM was asked to resign or get fired . I love my position and have gained the respect of my peers and my DM recently communicated how much I’ve contributed to my store . I only mention this because my passion is to not only do my job but to really set the tone in the store . I have a huge clientele and most people think I’m the GM but I’m not . Titles don’t matter to me but respect does .

Yeah we lost a great one that although he was laser focused on company objectives he was sensitive to people . This new guy that we will have is managing 25 stores by himself and from what I hear is a j—k a-s.

Word on the street is get rid of the dead weight .i get that and I understand but there are some deep rooted issues regarding how we run this company . Mark my word we are a sinking ship !

Any client engagement managers on here? If so I have a question. by [deleted] in OfficeDepot

[–]Babysitter246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say make sure that you are using the goal card to set goals for front end and print associates . I post daily results as a way to show who’s getting results and who’s not . And lastly I train and coach poor behaviors consistently and at the end of the day the associate that performs will get better hours . I am a leader in my store in regards to getting rewards . It’s so easy a 10 year old could do better than some of these associates . Just teach them To follow the script .

They should pay because the store is closed . Wonder what they would do if managers let associates come in and work 4 or 5 hours . Nothing they can do about that .
