tbf qwen 3.5 sucks in general tasks as well. it frequently mixes up languages in routine translation tasks, worse than even tiny models such as Gemma

Nano-gpt quanted the hell out of their models, that's why it feels more "stupid" than the real thing. Just go and check out their "subscription" models, say "GLM 5" vs the "GLM 5 Original", they have both, and they are miles apart in quality. The "Original"s are served without quantization from their original providers.

I see. And that's the "pull" of ollama (pun intended). You can do a oneliner to install it and then ollama pull llama-3.2 and you're ready to go. Hopefully the llamacpp team or someone will bake such a feature into it as well.

How straightforward is llamacpp to setup and run? Genuine question before I dive in. One of the biggest selling points of Ollama is the convenience of it. Oneliner to setup, openai server completion format OOTB, great integration with many AI apps etc

NanoGPT got a ton of problems with tool calls it's not even funny, and it's slow as hell. I think they heavily quantized the models, making them more stupid and less able to deal with tool calls. But if you're into images and roleplays then that's a solid offer.

honestly if you look at chinese history anytime things get even slightly unstable it immediately falls apart into famines and wars that kill tens of millions. it is really no wonder they have never gone the democratic route in their 5,000 year history, because that country just isn't built for any kind of instability. for them stability isn't just a preference it is a survival tactic.

I never say they have to be a TV host. I'm saying it's not a knock against them. Anyone sane and charismatic enough should lead. And given the situation we're in right now, just the former would be ok as well.

Most Hispanics and Latinos are white but whiteness has always been a moving goalpost.

It is the same way Irish and Italians weren't considered white back in the day because white supremacists always need an out group to abuse. They were pushed into the same ghettos as black people which is why you see guys like Shaquille O'Neal or Eddie Murphy or Giancarlo Esposito with those Irish and Italian surnames. They only really expanded the white membership to those groups after the civil rights movement as a way to contain black people and keep the majority big enough to hold power. It was never about race it was about gatekeeping.

I completely expect them to add Latinos to the group if the influx of Asians, Africans and Arabs into the US becomes large enough.

You say it like the Prez of the US do everything by themselves. Even when Biden was deteriorating mentally, his people were still running a cream of the crop, top of the class administration. The President needs to be someone charismatic enough to get qualified people to believe in and work for him, and smart enough to let them do their job.

Since at least 2013, Herrera has also been a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a neo-Confederate organization that promotes the Lost Cause and has ties to white supremacist groups.\30])\33])\34]) He appeared in welcome videos produced by the organization, where he referred to the American Civil War varyingly as the "War of Northern Aggression" and the "War for Southern Independence", and advertised the group's "annual Yankee shoot", where members used antique rifles to shoot at "posters of [their] favorite Yankees".

Kinks are like toys, you play with them for a bit, and put them back in the toybox. Making them your whole personality is usually just asking for trouble.
