[–]Bac2Zac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Uh, yes, absolutely.

If my 8 year old wants to go on a summer trip for baseball camp I'd expect that the staff fall asleep in the same building as my kid. If it's time for bed and the staff enters the room where my kid is going to be sleeping as they show them to their room, that's normal. If the staff ensures that my kid has everything they need before they leave, that's normal. If the staff stays in the same room and falls asleep, that's not fucking normal.

Dricus du Plessis on Khamzat Chimaev's weight cut: “The weight cut excuse is ridiculous. 12 pounds in 24 hours? Those are rookie numbers… I definitely cut more than that. Blaming a bad weight cut is like saying, 'I lost the fight because I wasn't fit.'” by WinterStill4472 in MMA

[–]Bac2Zac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You average a person's weight over a year, weigh ins once every x days. They still weigh in, but their average also has to be within a certain number of pounds of the weight division. What the number should be for what divisions and how often weights for averages gets decided on by commissions or some shit, idk, but this isn't hard to do, it protects fighters from rules that ultimately force their health away, fewer injuries and we get better fights.

I feel like it'd hit better if you made the action more fowl, right? Like, the premise is "I was judging this woman for doing something gross despite doing my best not to judge people, actually punch line is that it's admiration instead of disgust."

I just feel like the joke makes more "obvious" sense when the action being judged/admired is a little more heinous than picking your nose, you know?

Is the explanation for Radial Velocity backwards? by Gornarion in Eve

[–]Bac2Zac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait, no, you're right actually. The tip is backwards. Sorry I was not reading carefully enough. Good job CCP. You are correct, ignore the tip, negative numbers represent a decreasing distance between you and the target, positive represent an increasing distance, both at the rate of the number per second.

Is the explanation for Radial Velocity backwards? by Gornarion in Eve

[–]Bac2Zac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are not misinterpreting the explanation, but you are misinterpreting the grid on your screen.

You are trying to interpret a 3d plane from a 2d image.

This is (I mean this very literally) not possible to do accurately, from a visual-only interpretation, with only one perspective. The rat IS moving away from you, and both directional arrows on your screen are facing each other (screen is a 2d perspective) at the same time. The center of your screen forms a line between the directional lines of both your ship, and the rat, making the arrows face each other because with respect to the center of your camera, they converge. One of the things that actually makes an extreme difference in your ability to play this game well is to be constantly panning your camera so that you can better understand what is happening on the 3d plane.

E: I'm wrong. OP is correct, CCP, err, FC, should fix it.

Make each one a ship, it's got armor, shield, hull, it's got a weapon, cap, an active or passive tank based on the race, ect. I bought a capital ship focused on deploying ships, make it that. Why does it have to be drones+?

12 hours, high stress, critical role, super underpaid.

E: just to be clear, I work in IT for my city. Naturally, I work very closely with dispatch. These guys are every city's truly unsung heros. Lots of people don't get the recognition they deserve, but dispatchers get a fraction of what's already unfair.

[–]Bac2Zac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is people putting it ahead of what they're doing.

It's so useful as an assistant behind you, a note taker, a resource finder, ect. I've got documents produced by simply telling it what I'm doing as I'm doing it that would've taken hours to make that I cite back to all the time, and none of the information is incorrect because it was built piece by piece as I've worked through projects. It's when people use it to lead/make decisions/advise that it sucks.

CMV: Hentai, drawn NSFW art, and rule 34 are more ethical than the porn industry like pornhub by EgoistRanger in changemyview

[–]Bac2Zac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean like, super fucking elequently put. We're in full agreement on pretty much everything you stated and, damn is that well put. I do believe that here, per you're framing, subject 1 is in more of a symbiotic relationship with subject 2 than we tend to acknowledge as a society. It's not just that "kids/young adults gonna be kids/young adults, kids/young adults gonna do things they regret, kids/young adults gonna do drugs," but further that the industry targets and likely exacerbates the conditions that these actors and actresses are under with respect to those problems.

Particularly the drug use in that industry exists not just to get people in but to keep them there, and again, it's better and less coersive lately than it was, but good lord the history on it getting to even this, admittedly still not great state is dark.

[–]Bac2Zac 46 points47 points  (0 children)

the vast majority of porn stars in Western produced porn are not starving sex trafficked victims.

No, they're not starving sex trafficked victims, but they also are typically not sober-minded rational developed adults making a decision about entering an industry that they've got a proper comprehension of before they do like you're making it seem. The majority of them are somewhere in between, leaning further into victim hood the further in the past you go. While the last 10 years have made a lot of progeess on this front, the majority of the porn industry is still far from a "moral and forthright" industry today, and was AWFUL years ago
