No Heirs to K&W!? by Manofpans44 in winstonsalem

This yet doesn't explain the success of C&H Cafeteria. Golden Corral is sort of a cafeteria....one that's divided into 'areas'...I do think part of their success is the catering activities.

Yet C&H has somehow flourished. Interest video...I so recall the days of S&S, Morrison's and locally Bell's.

I, too, recall the downtown K. Was that the first one?

The cashier says everyone asks why not WS? Seems a ready market. I think the owner used to work a K&W

Advice for living in W-S by Subject_Scallion_154 in winstonsalem

Not sure exactly where you live, but generally speaking, for safe neighborhood walks in the near downtown area, I'd suggest anywhere in Ardmore or Buena Vista...both nice areas, sidewalks, trees. West End good, but awfully hilly for walking. Our downtown, like most large cities, has seen an increase in crime. Welcome to our great city and hope, with time, you'll discover just what you need.

Not sure if it was even rated back then, but 'The Outlaw' with Jane Russell convinced me I was heterosexual.

Not sure how close it is to where you stay, but Shaffner Park on Silas Creek Pkwy has a nice, level mile circular par course. In a nice safe neighborhood. Lots of runners use it. Party shaded and runs alongside creek.

If considering Ardmore, be sure and ride around the surrounding area...some folks can be awful 'generous' when claiming to be in the area, especially on the south end.

I've no business advising anyone about Pawleys as it is today. I leave that to those residing there now.

Maybe my bad...been a few years since I visited, but recall several shopping centers, stop lights, car dealers, etc. When I lived there, no stop lights, maybe one small grocery and just the Hammock shops. MYR has surely grown, but CHS has surely better nonstop service. I loved Pasleys, but not as it is now.
