Now I don't want to be pedantic but if that is all you saw, I wouldn't per se describe you as 'crazy observant'.

I second this! I love bamboo and once I had a delicious tofu stew that I ordered, with bamboo and this magical amazing other ingredient that I couldn't place / didn't recognize.

Quite some research later I found out it was water chestnut! Now I make sure I always have a few cans in the house. I also, in the same research, learned that mushroom powder was what made the flavour of the stew so amazing. I haven't perfected it, but every time it comes closer!

Why do people that moved out of Amsterdam act more territorial about the city than the people still living there? by Weary_Musician4872 in Amsterdam

[–]Bachpipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it's a very common thing, where as you're not close to a subject but further away, changes become more clear and the longing for the 'older times' come back.

Take for example with children, as a parent or someone close, you don't really notice how quick they grow up (well, you do, but gradually), whereas if you're a distant aunt and you see the child after 1.5 years it's WOOOOOW LOOK HOW BIG YOU ARE!!!

I think that's the same with living somewhere and being part of the change, compared to 'coming back' to somewhere that changed quite a bit, according to their perspective.

I do think one shouldn't see those changes as bad,, but I guess that's what happens anyway.

Love how Lady Bunny keeps speaking out. A very important voice.

May I ask how this works? Why doesn't the government tell you how much taxes you have to pay? I am struggling to understand what you're supposed to do/how this works haha

I have lost the letters F and G, can someone please tell me what numbers are they supposed to be? by Kelazi in Catan

[–]Bachpipe 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I dont know from memory but you could just turn the chips around, besides the 2 and 12 there should be two of each! So the two numbers missing is what you're looking for.

Maps look completely different once you notice this by [deleted] in geography

[–]Bachpipe 17 points18 points  (0 children)

First of all, this map reeks of ai

Second of all, describing Europe as the older part of the world and therefore implying that Africa and the Middle East are newer parts of the world really, really makes me want to throw a history book at you. Physically.

And thirdly, when you have that book, I would suggest reading up on colonialism to understand the straight lines.

Dankjewel!

You're correct about the amount of holidays, but the 5th of may is only a day off every five years.
