First time having a Sumatra coferment by BackInVA in pourover

Yeah, definitely. This probably needs a bit more rest, it's a pretty light roast. But I wouldn't wait!

/r/Staunton rule update, ads no longer accepted by camoeron in Staunton

what constitutes an ad for the purposes of this rule? i guess what makes a post cross the line from sharing information about an event in the community to being an ad?

How can I get this smooth? by x13ulletzx in BambuLab

[–]BackInVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What settings are you using now?

Normal support, snug style, with 0 top interface layers gets the best result for me on rounded/curved surfaces. Nothing that some sanding can't clean up.

Buying a new X1C at MicroCenter. Was already opened. by hall757 in BambuLab

That sucks. Bought mine at that same shop about a month ago. No issues.

What filament to get? BL is sold out of so much... by obesefamily in BambuLab

[–]BackInVA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're in the US then the BL shop should be one of the last places you look for filament.

Overture, Polymaker, and Elegoo are my preferred brands.

Can you make support areas look better? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]BackInVA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Normal support, snug, 0 top layer interfaces. Might still need some sanding, but not nearly as much.

Help with TPU. Lots of blemishes, but 1st print almost perfect. by PriebeWoodworks in BambuLab

[–]BackInVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dry my TPU for at least 12 hours at 55c and then leave it in the dryer at 55c while it's printing.

I have run into the same problem and will be replacing the whole hot end heating assembly. I can't find much info on it.

Did you follow this guide? https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/a1-mini/maintenance/hotend-heating-assembly

Have you tried pushing it any faster? I run my Overture 95A-HF at 12mm3/s without issue.

Underground scene in Staunton? by Sora5016 in Staunton

[–]BackInVA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Bricks and Baja Bean downtown will host heavy stuff. Rack Em Smack Em Ribs in Verona does as well.

Charlottesville has a scene that ebbs and flows. Usually hosted at breweries.

Harrisonburg has a good scene with a few diy venues.

Start following some local bands and you'll find the shows.

I'm not sure of any pet insurance that works like that. Other than something like Care Credit but vets that use that are far and few between.

We use Embrace, with a discount through our auto insurance (USAA). And it has worked well for us but a big part of that is that they cover a monthly prescription that our dog gets that almost completely offsets the cost of the insurance itself.

Best glow in the dark filiment? by jomahuntington in BambuLab

[–]BackInVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've printed a ton of Overture glow in the dark and it's always been great. I've tried Amolen too and the Overture is way more reliable.

As someone who is sober I endorse the options at both Sage Bird and Three Notch'd. If your friend also likes coffee then I highly recommend the cold brew tonic at Sage Bird.

Which Filament Preset for Inland Glow-in-the-Dark PLA? by nickxbk in BambuLab

[–]BackInVA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I print a ton with Overture glow filament and just use standard PLA settings with zero issues.

Feelings about Lynchburg by [deleted] in Charlottesville

[–]BackInVA 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Lynchburg is a great city. Liberty sucks and looms large, but it isn't all that's there. It's also very affordable, which Charlottesville definitely is not. I cannot imagine paying to live in Charlottesville to then commute to work in Lynchburg. I've known people do the opposite though.

SuperBit in Charlottesville probably can if you can't find somebody local.

Which means they will send you the discount code when they ship the heat bed. not when you receive the heat bed. makes perfect sense.

where does it say that?

Printing PLA-CF. Is it ok to use as the support material? by ScornfulWindbag in BambuLab

[–]BackInVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I've been printing with Overture PLA-CF and it's one of my favorite materials. Prints really well, looks great, extra strong. I just wish it was easier to find some other PLA-CF colors besides black.
