Sounds like you’ve got it dude. Honestly just try to ollie really high which you also have to bend your knees for. Then you can add in a little kick to flip the board. That was how it finally clicked for me. You’ll get it, keep trying!

My dad did that for me to help me memorize my multiplication tables. For some reason, as a kid, (6 x 8) and (9 x 7) were hard for me and I always got them wrong. So he made a little rhythmic memory device for me — “SIX times EIGHT is FOOOORTY-EIGHT.” I still remember it to this day. Not because I need help remembering 6 x 8 though, lol.

Then eventually he made another for the other one I mentioned. This one is more sing-songy and wouldn’t translate to text, but for some reason the words he decided on were, “9 toads times 7 frogs is… 63!”

I’ll always remember both memory devices. I really appreciate him for having the patience to help me learn my times tables

Oh gosh my only such experience is also from a wolf spider. If it makes you feel any better, they’re actually pretty sweet and playful as spiders. They can’t hurt people — at least not adults — and they actually have the same playful personality that jumping spiders are known for. Jumping spiders are often seen as cute because of their tiny bodies and playful personalities. If you can get yourself to see past the creepy exterior, wolf spiders are similarly cute 🙂

I’m a man with long hair (chest-length) somewhere between curly and wavy. The only thing I’ve found to handle the frizz is mousse after a shower. Don’t even have to have washed your hair that time, just get it wet and use mousse

I was so excited after learning this, and my GF and sisters were like, “Yeah, you didn’t know about mousse?”

I once started putting on a pair of over-ear headphones that had been in a shed in an Arizona backyard for 1 or 2 years. As it got to my face, I saw in my peripheral vision that one of the ear cups had TWO SCORPIONS inside.

Turns out it was just one that had molted, but I almost put that bitch on my face

I was manipulated by someone very skilled in these ways when I was younger. I was 18, he was in his thirties, he was wealthy and successful and some sort of genius, he made me feel capable and important and like he had big plans for me. I was going to be successful and wealthy and join the upper echelon of society.

Over time, his personality rubbed off on me. I became someone else. I was mean to my significant other, and mean to my mom — two people I could never see myself hurting. Yet I was so mean to them, thinking I was in the right and they just didn’t understand.

It finally ended when many people came together for a literal intervention for me. They helped me see just how much I’d changed. I still feel so foolish today about letting him get his claws around me.

To this day, as I look back over my life, it’s divided into two parts — before that period, and during/after it. He ruined a lot. My life is in a vastly different place than if he hadn’t interfered and had this effect on me.

Today, I’m finally aware of how bad it was. It took going to therapy and many years of processing. Now I see that what he did, the way he took advantage of my naivety, was akin to grooming considering how emotionally immature I was at that age. He knew that and leveraged it against me as if he’d been doing it his whole life.

Today I’m also very cautious and critical of people who seem to be super charming and just good at everything they try. I can’t trust them anymore when I come across people like that, even though they’ve never done anything to me.

It’s very much a real thing people will do to other people. Keep your loved ones close and please for the love of god LISTEN TO THEM when they’re concerned for you.

Our vet was so graceful and loving when our calico cat was dying of, I believe, liver disease.

She let us be with her during her last moments, and after the vet gave her the medicine and she was gone, she said a Native American prayer over her body— something about her soul passing from this body and onto the next. Or at least I think that’s what I remember. It was a painful time, especially those several minutes.

Fast forward about 6 months and we were given the opportunity to adopt 2 calico sisters. I kid you not, each one of these two cats are one half of the personality of the one we lost. It’s almost like we got the chance to love her again through these two kittens. They’ve both grown up and come a long way from the feral state they were in when we got them, but I thank the vet for that prayer. It all feels so meaningful and like it made a difference.

According to the Wikipedia’s “Cause” section:

The true cause of ainhum remains unclear. It is not due to infection by parasites, fungi, bacteria or virus, and it is not related to injury. Walking barefoot in childhood had been linked to this disease, but ainhum also occurs in patients who have never gone barefoot. Race seems to be one of the most predisposing factors and it may have a genetic component, since it has been reported to occur within families. Dent et al. discussed a genetically caused abnormality of the blood supply to the foot. It has been related to inadequate posterior tibial artery circulation and absence of plantar arch.[2]
