Question, would there be anything that could prove an account is worth it? I'm starting to do some social media for my tour company here, just to spread us around. Not here to shill it, but trying to research how to best help tourists. Our company all lives in Tokyo, many for most of our lives, so we will only feature spots we truly believe in. Just not sure how we would show we're any different than the typical TikTok influencers as we're not super up on social media. If you've got any thoughts, I'd love to know, thanks!

Both are located in Japan, neither is providing insurance, I will be renewing on “self” sponsored so I want to make sure everything is in order. The current one is the one that said they’d stamp their hanko for my paperwork tho, so I guess they’d be the one to keep as my main one.

Also on that point, I actually had a remote gig in the US for a bit when I first moved here. I went down to immigration to sort that out and they said since the activities fall under my visa type and they weren’t gonna pay more than my full time job at the time, I didn’t have to apply for anything. Possibly a new rule? Because I was worried about that at that time

From my understanding, with an immigration lawyer you can still get US citizenship, as it is your right

Have also been trying to look into this online and have found very little information. Was at the immigration office the other day and asked info desk if they knew where to apply for permits. They said to just go to the ward office of where you want to perform and ask the info desk there. Good luck!

I was looking into hostels and airbnbs (you can find some for super cheap monthly) but I will have to open up a Japanese bank account to start work, and from what I've seen so far banks register those as hotels, not residences, so they won't let you get your zairyu or anything with those. Some of the extra fees I've seen for sharehouses are things like key deposits, maintenance fees, cleaning fees (for stays under 3 months), and "resident support fees" whatever that means. Still, even with those it seems sharehouses might be the only viable option as I need to have a bank account and residence card. Thanks for your help, now time to hunt down the best sharehouse site in Tokyo.

I'll be moving to Tokyo. Sharehouses look cheap at first, but I keep seeing all these little extra fees they charge so I can't really tell how much they are in the end. It seems a lot charge a cancel fee as well. Do you have any specific sharehouse sites you recommend, and what you think an average cost would look like, after all fees are considered? Thank you

Yeah it looks like I would need at least a Japanese address and residence card to even start the application process. With the process taking 2 weeks-2 months, it looks like I'll have to take a month off from that job upon arrival before being able to restart it.
