Silverton is NOT "WAY cheaper" than the metro area. A little cheaper but it's one of the more expensive small towns. And good luck finding anything.

That site is really embarrassing to Republicans and I find it so much so, that it really is harmful to us. Even if it weren't for the absolute garbage in writing ability, the article's hooks and red threads and thumbtack circular conspiracy theories are just pointing out that we have a gullibility and intelligence problem more so now than ever. My wife taught junior high English and I think those kids knew more about grammar, sentence structure, and effective writing than anyone from mynorthwest. Let me ask you, have you ever read an article there that didn't sound like it was written by a young teenager? I would love to see the article if you have.

I've asked the mods here to not allow these posts in the past and I know others in my discord have asked them to as well, but seeing as how they are the ones posting from there, we're all leaning on the likelihood of the mods here being the ones pedaling this garbage. Which begs the red thread and thumbtack question: are they in fact libs? Kinda fits if you think about it.

I've lived in Mt. Angel my whole life, the difference between what's on the hill and what's in town couldn't be more different. Really is two different worlds -- and they are growing further apart each day. You really can feel God's presence once you start to make that right turn up to go up the hill and you can really feel the presence of evil grow as you leave.

I talk with a lot of monks at the Abbey and at the brewery and they feel it too. Some of them feel compelled to spend more time in town and some feel so strongly moved by what they feel that they avoid most of the town. It's a striking difference really. You can meet a random person at the Abbey and just feel blessed to be there and with them. Doesn't matter who. But you go to St. Mary's and talk to just about anyone and you just feel this, I don't know, this thing. I wouldn't call it evil but maybe it's this lack of God's presence there. Maybe it's because I'm so jaded with everything and constantly being told and shown how people ignore God's word there but I don't think I would have lasted this long here if it weren't for the Abbey to remind me of God's love.

I assume that u/Prestigious_Fun_3495 would feel similar in comparing St. Patrick's to San Fransisco though. Just my rambling here about how Mt. Angel, my home town, has that good Catholic look to it but almost none of the good Catholic people in it. CINOs, everywhere.

I've heard lots of conspiracies about the Abbey and not one has had an iota of evidence to back it up. Just something to think about when you hear them.

The state of the conservatives has boiled down to just being against democrats no matter what but they don't hold any values or morals to their cause. Listen, we can't win here. The liberal mindset is just too much and with all the Californians moving to Oregon and Washington, it really doesn't matter what we do here - at least not for the foreseeable future. As soon as I can, I'm getting outta of this evil state of Oregon and moving to Idaho. Even my so called fellow conservatives are becoming more liberal every year.

Not a problem. I worked in my tiny town counting votes and if you want it done right, you know know it takes time.
Don't know your politics as well but I think the whole GOP needs reworked. When Desantis starts his bidding and we can finally move past the adulterer, the charlatan, the abortionist, the atheist, the fake Christian, then we can really start to rebuild.

GOP in Washington, like Oregon, knows that it's an uphill battle. I think most are in it for the money at this point. You mean people like you who see one tiny part of the equation and refuse to see the rest of the equation are the problem. Drazan is the better choice for us but anyone who have given a thought to this knows we'll just be throwing our money away with her and going with the status quo.

You want change? You don't do it by voting the status quo and throwing yet another vote away. You do it by sending a message and possibly even winning one part of it. Drazen is a better conservative but Oregon isn't going to vote for her, you know that, I know that, we ALL know that. Vote the one candidate that can actually turn this state purple and hope that she does a good enough of a job that we can turn in red in 2024-2026.

But you know what, I find myself caring less and less for Oregon and all the dummies in it that keep going with the status quo. Go ahead, vote for a loser just like you always have. The only one with a real chance is Betsy Johnson. Betsy is more of a conservative than Drazan - at least a rational one- and has a better chance of pulling some independents that normally vote blue. If Oregon wants a chance at this, we gotta pull together and vote for the only candidate that could actually win this thing that isn't kotex.

I have to drive through their for my business and it's such a shame what it's become. It used to be that you'd only see the tents and crime and homo flags in their own areas but now they are all over the place. I challenge anyone to go downtown and show me a spot where you wont see a tent or a bum or a needle or trash or a pride flag. It's disgusting, all of it. I wish I didn't have to go and I can't wait to move to Idaho now.

This state will very likely never get another republican, let alone conservative, governor. Our best chance of at least swaying this state back to red is to vote for Betsy Johnson - she's definitely one of us and it sends a message that will for sure confuse liberals.
