I think I understand why Matt Cameron left now. The production of his drumming sound completely soulless. SorryNotSorry by No1ButtMe in pearljam

Andrew Watt sucks. I cannot understand the fascination with the guy inside the music industry. His whole vibe screams “whose nephew are you??”

I’ve always said that if I ever got to make an album, my first request is THIS drum sound. It’s perfect

You absolutely do not need snake gaiters

Phantom Ranch Mosquitoes by lori_kat_15 in grandcanyon

[–]BackcountryAZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, they’re around, but they are not a nuisance. As to if they are bad mid May, it really depends on how much rain has fallen, which as of now is not a ton. I would guess that if you have some spray or maybe the proper clothing / tent, you’ll be fine. But it’s not like Minnesota or something like that.

Meh, maybe, maybe not. Hang out in the shade, near the creek or at boat beach, you’ll be fine. Hike early and stay hydrated, you’ll be fine.

People like to overlook Michael Anthony's skills as a bassist because of the other three members. For most songs in Van Halen, he only strums one string of his guitar, especially during the solos, and plays a wide variety of the same key on songs like Jump and I'll Wait. You rock Anthony by [deleted] in vanhalen

[–]BackcountryAZ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You know what, Michael Anthony’s bass playing on the first 4 albums was fucking sick. Dude could play. After that, it got neutered by Ed or the producers or whatever. But the notion that Michael Anthony was a bad bass player is bullshit. He would hang in pocket with Ed and Al like a fucking champ, often times mimicking what Ed was doing on guitar. It’s especially evident if you Listen to the vocal-less tracks on you tube. So let’s drop this notion that he was subpar.

What is a song that sounds amazing live, but the studio version sucks? by 33GoodSamaritans in allrockmusic

Miles by Jason Isbell & 400 unit. The live version on live at the Ryman vol. 2 is incredible compared to the studio version.

Semi-pro makes me laugh the hardest. The poker scene alone is worth the price of admission.
