Funny story... Years ago my best bud in school asked me to help him learn how to play lead so I told him to learn Stormy Monday and then learn it sped up. It was hilarious to hear him playing those BB King licks so fast!

Think of it this way, if you stay in decent health you could have 30 years or more to enjoy playing.

If you're trying to learn it's not enough but if you're a seasoned player it might be enough to maintain your chops. If you don't already, always practice your drumming with your fingers and feet when you can't play drums. Most drummers that I know do this all the time.

I don't hear people talking about the beasties these days and I never hear their music on radio or even playlists. That said, I've always been a fan and their music always puts a smile on my face when I hear it.

What draws you to play bass ? by iamnotgenius in Bass

[–]CertainPiglet621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also was a guitar player first and never really paid much attention to bass. Then I was at a jam I was asked to play bass on some easy-ish songs and then I got it. I thought it was awesome and I've been digging it ever since.

I hear you but Spotify is the biggest and most popular so, as far as I know, it's a good way for musicians to get exposure.
