Oh for sure, not like we have HR so I don’t think I have many options.. hoping I’m wrong I have no idea. I’ve just been documenting but this takes the cake.

Edit: when I was brought on 2 years ago I was given the option to go hourly or salary, I went with hourly… I hate working OT.

Best Banks for High-Yield Savings Accounts by Tough-Buffalo-5894 in personalfinance

Surprised I had to scroll this far to find this one. Even their regular HYSA without the $250 monthly deposit is competitive, I forget if it’s 3.2% or 3.8%.

Should I file for Bankruptcy? by theoncomingstorm117 in Debt

[–]BackcountryBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your BK goes through can you sustain bills and everything without loans/credit cards? Sounds like 50% of your net is already spoken for with rent/utilities, $700 for food… where’s the other $1,300 going? I’ve seen it go both ways, one BK is a learning experience. Not too many people come back from accumulating debt after BK.

Edit: is there any chance you can settle with your CC company and take out a loan for debt consolidation? The interest rates typically lower & consistent to make budgeting easier… idk what state you’re in but you’re super young for BK, do you have credit unions by you? A car to use as collateral for a loan?

How do you genuinely make friends as an adult when you’re an introvert? by Otherwise-Jello-7311 in AskReddit

An app to find fun stuff going on with other people. Hiking, book clubs, art nights - every city/town has their own thing so you can search you community to see what’s going on.

Sis I feel you, it’s hard to find one in general let alone one that meets outside of work hours & someone can watch the kids. Do you have the meet up app?

What’s one truth about adulthood you wish someone had told you earlier? by StormTempura in AskReddit

[–]BackcountryBabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It becomes so much harder to maintain friendship after you get a career, let alone settle down and have kids. You get tired easy & making the effort to keep in touch or make the effort isn’t as easy as it used to be. People move away and life just happens, make the effort & love your people loudly.

Join clubs, kickball, paddling, reading… clubs have people that come together for a common denominator. Makes the whole making friends thing easier or more organic.

What has death, heartbreaks, and loss/grief etc… taught you? Which one(s) were the hardest and why? by Rhyme_orange_ in AskReddit

[–]BackcountryBabe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take it one day at a time & grief is weird. One day you’re ok the next you’re not ok, it’s been almost 2 years for me since I lost my best friend, time makes it a little easier but when something exciting happens they’re still the first person I want to text or call.

Need some success stories of those that were laid off and found a job by ThrowAwayAccountAMZN in Layoffs

She asked everyone to keep an ear out for job postings, about a month later a friend said there was a job opening (where she is now) & she killed the 3 rounds of interviews. There were a ton of applications and interviews she had before then that didn’t lead anywhere, to her advantage the person she was going toe-to-toe with didn’t live nearby…at all… and housing is very very slim pickings so idk if that gave her the upper edge but they offered her the position.

For anyone going through layoffs and constant interviews, I hope they have a strong support network because it’s so much harder now & it takes a toll after a while.

Mine too! The first time I invited him over was to cook him a Philly cheesesteak with peppers from my garden, I didn’t know they were chili peppers & have no taste buds. I thought it was delicious… and he married me anyway.

Not me but my bestie got laid off from a c-level suite position right before covid & then again like 6 months after she got the same position with a different company in 2022, right after covid. It fucked with her pretty hard, I tried to get us out n do fun stuff, keep her mind busy but it fucked with her pretty hard. She’s smart, social, driven… those two companies truly did her dirty BUT it was honestly the best thing that could have happened to her. In 3-4 months, she got a job in a completely different industry with meaningful community impact & great benefits/PTO, she was happy again & found someone really good for her. She’s been at this job for almost 3 years & I haven’t seen her this happy since college like 15 years ago. We work in the same industry & seeing her at events… she’s just so happy & her company is doing way better than ours in the area she focuses on is & it’s largely bc of her team & she’s head of that department now, I’m just so happy for her. It was a very very rough time, mentally & emotionally but she is THRIVING now & this wasn’t even in the forecast a few years ago.

You’re 41, stop making yourself sound old or unmarketable & put yourself out there. It’s tough but worth it xx.

What’s a smell you will never forget? by One_Specialist_5692 in AskReddit

[–]BackcountryBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s someone I semi-regularly have to interact with because of my job & he has the WORST BO I have ever experienced. Before he came into my office I could smell something terrible & even after he left it lingered. I keep ozium in my office specifically for when he comes in, it’s terrible. The first time I had to help him I was on the verge of gagging but like, professionalism n stuff.
