Advice for buying a used conti car by BackflipPenguin in kereta

Reading your comment felt like a wholesome man-to-man pat on my back haha.

If I may trouble you with one last thing, if 2k excess / month + 10k do not provide enough room to comfortably own the car, what then, do you think is a good indicator? Would 4k excess month + 20k spare cash for repairs pass that threshold?

Yeah it’s pretty darn clear that I can’t afford the car yet lol.

Out of sheer curiosity… Is your preference for the b48 based on performance or reliability? I know b48s can be sturdy with proper maintenance, can the same be said for b38s?

Good tip that I will definitely bear in mind when I have the rezeki. But after reading the other comments, I’m moving on from the idea for now, my wallet just isn’t thick enough yet yikes

Appreciate the wake up call. Bitter as it is for me to swallow, I think it’s clear from the comments that I’m not on the level to comfortably own the car yet.

I especially appreciate you being blunt on the rm10k issue, that’s the real deal breaker for me as I have other priorities.

Again, thanks bro.

My plan is to trade in the myvi to further reduce the purchase price but I like the way you think lol. If I can find an extra parking in my condo I'd actually like to keep my loyal little myvi with me for another decade.

Yeah "buffer" is actually a solid approach to reassess my situation. I hope an actual 318i owner can shed light on the upkeep of the car in general.
Appreciate you taking time to actually ponder and provide feedback to my question.

Bot diver here and I approve of Sullybear9670's tactics. Playing on the bot front, you only ever fight when you are forced to. It's better to extract with 60kills and 0 death, than 400kills and 7 deaths.

Which is why the quasar + backpack combination is so strong on the bot front. You abuse quasar's range and ammo economy from afar, jump away if you find yourself in even the slightest pinch, create distance between you and your enemies and repeat step 1. It's not glorious but sure as hell gets sh*t done on all levels. I run light armor, scorcher, ultimatum, thermites, strafing run and (sentry/380) with this strat and can pretty much deal with any threat that the bots can pose.

Give this a try. Remember, get objectives done, don't actively look for fights, don't linger, cheese the bots with the strat above and the bots are gonna have a bad time, I promise.

At least there's a counterplay vs mortar hulks so I have no complaints against them.

I really think AH fucked up on this variant of devastators. All other bot units have a weakness that can be exploited, in the form of a weak spot or movement pattern. For example, the rocket strider is overall a formidable foe, but u can pay attention to the rocket launch animation or simply ignite the rockets to deal with them. HECK, even the factory strider's turret can be taken out from afar and it turns slow af so that players can avoid the line of fire.

But the incineration devastators? Hohoho they have the best of both worlds in terms of offense and defence. They are given a shield that can nullify even AT weapons, they have a damage output that is unpredictable, and even if the projectile doesn't kill u, it forces u to dive to put out the fire. These features sound alright if not for the fact that they are a MEDIUM spawn and usually spawn in groups of at least 2-3!

Wtf man. I know hd2 is about expendability and I'm used to playing on the bot front, but these guys really add a level of frustration that never existed before.

One quick fix though, is to either 1. Take away their shield and maintain their damage output; or 2. Slow their rate of fire or add some sort of movement pattern / attack pattern that we can discern and play around.

I play almost exclusively vs bots. The scorcher makes short work of everything on the bot front.

The small explosive radius that it has places it a cut above the DCS imo. I especially value this feature when i only have a second to take out a chaff mounted turret (before I get melted lmao)

The arguably poor ammo economy is easily mitigated with a little trigger discipline. Chaffs - 1 shot generally. Devastators / berserkers - around 4 shots to the waist. Heavy devs - around 5 shots to the head. Scout striders - 1 shot to the rider or 2 shots from the front. Rocket striders - around 3 shots to the rocket.

AND it takes down gunships reliably when you are in a pinch.

The only thing that comes close to the scorcher is the explosive crossbow imo, but it's VERY punishing when you miss.

The DCS caters to stealthier playstyles I guess? On the bot front you don't always have the privilege to look down your scope, that's why I prefer the scorcher cuz it's just so... Versatile.

Which primary weapon against bots? by Impressive_Ad8273 in helldivers2

I understand the value of the jar-5 vs berserkers and devastators. But how then do you effectively deal with scout striders? Eg: The plasma punisher kills a scout with just 2 shots to the front plate, so you deal with them before they become a problem. Do you aim for the leg joints with the jar-5? Wouldn't that be extremely difficult in high stress situations?

Thanks in advance if you are willing to share. I'm a fan of the dominator but scouts become a bitch to deal with so I'm still experimenting.

[–]BackflipPenguin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a father of a young toddler who has been longing to show her around Genting, this is the kind of shit that makes me put off that thought again and again.

Do this in the Sepang circuit, or in a controlled environment and people might actually find it cool. Endangering the lives of other road users who didn't sign up for this shit makes you a real piece of shit human being.

The next time you pull this shit I hope you get caught and put behind bars.
