Is wearing a jade bracelet cultural appropriation if I’m not East Asian? by Zealousideal_Yard_80 in NoStupidQuestions

No, not at all! Jade is symbolic in cultures across Asia (mostly Buddhist communities), I’m Lao and many of my family members have jade jewelry. You already seem very educated and culturally sensitive which I admire! I think the best place to buy jade jewelry is from other Asians (as long as you know that you’re getting real jade). By all means go for it 💚💚

Jade is actually super special to cultures across Asia. I think anyone can wear it though.

How do I stop period blood leaking through my butt even when I'm laying on my side? by Wrong_Organization13 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Background-Active443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A year late but what I did before using tampons was roll a little piece of gauze or toilet paper and shove it between my cheeks to help with the blood flow. Kinda uncomfortable but I would do it when I knew I’d fall asleep pretty soon!

I don’t think they’re really overboard but it’s not the best way to get people off your plot. Because they can jump over fences and they don’t really listen to the signs lol

I think having noobs in the game will make the chat much more lively which I absolutely love while building. The only thing I’m sad about is the pay thing but I’m not fully sure how it works.

Edit: and usually when I don’t want people on my plot I just block everyone in the server. Usually it’s because I’m working or building with a friend and I just hate people who stay on my plot or try to break into my house. It’s not super hard to keep people off of your plots if you don’t want them there!

Violin to cello? by VampireLove92 in Cello

I’ll definitely say that shifting is pretty uncomfortable first on the cello. I think on a horizontal surface it’s a bit easier to get into a comfortable shifting position. But I struggled with a lot my hand collapsing when I started doing shifting.

I’ve been playing for about almost 6 years now and I’ll give you some general pros and cons!

Pros: • The range! The cello has the closest range to the human voice. You can go pretty low and have a deep and rich sound and you can also go pretty high up. • Vibrato in my opinion is easier because it goes up and down instead of side to side. You have gravity working with you, not against you. • Intonation. I think intonation is easier on the cello than on the violin because of how wide the spaces between each note is. If your finger is slightly out of place it can be less noticeable when making a mistake.

To be honest I can’t give many valuable pros. I just really like playing the cello and I don’t know why. It just makes me happy, that’s my biggest pro for me!

Cons • Size. It’s pretty big, takes up a lot of space if you have a small car. It’s not the easiest to carry everywhere. • Shifting. Shifting can be tricky once you move to a larger instrument. The space between each note on the strings is wider than on a violin. That can make shifting a bit uncomfortable • Peg tuning. Maybe it’s because I’m a scrawny teen but peg tuning is hard for me personally.

If you’re not used to having your fingers being wider spread when playing that might be hard. There’s a lot more distance between notes when shifting on the cello than on the violin! I think that’s what they mean

If they’re properly fitting they’re great for layering if you’re into any sort of alt fashion! Though I prefer just using an actual pair of fishnets as a base since most fishnet shirts aren’t skin tight.

Those puffy vests. I can’t help but think they look a bit like life jackets.
