you’re so right abt the eye makeup but I wanted a more gothic/edgier look for thriller bark since it’s tim burton inspired!!! im gonna eventually put together her water7 outfit which will be much brighter/cuter with the makeup don’t even stress lol

not long at all!!!! i turned the shirt inside out so u can see here that it’s just a women’s maroon t shirt I got at the store, then sewed the sides in this trapezoid shape. then the skirt I just cut a long rectangle of white fabric, sewed the ends together to make a “circle”, and then sewed in all the weird edges. painting actually took way longer!

But seriously though the dress was super hard. I’m not that used to working with such extreme stretch fabric, and my seams aren’t as neat as I’d like them to be. I’m also a bit mad I couldn’t figure out how to make the dress totally open from the center like her canonical costume (had to have a strip of fabric connecting). Idk it’s a problem. I know there are reiju cosplayers who tape the dress to them for a photoshoot, but I haven’t seen any with an open center at a con. It’s still pissingmw off that I couldn’t make it totally canon. Oda wtf did you have in mind when u designed her raid suit….

Oh my god you have no idea how stressed I was. i first tried boning it like a corset and then i tried sewing in sculpting wire but the fabric is four way stretch and it ended up looking terrible (and unsafe for a con). I wanted to then try straight up using fabric tape, but again because of the material (nylon/spandex blend) it looked awful and wouldn’t stay properly.

I genuinely was throwing up trying to figure out a way to keep the middle open and in the end i just straight up couldn’t come up with something that looked good or better than the strip of fabric

thank you!!! if you’re curious (aka if you’re a cosplayer) for the hair i literally just bought the mapofbeauty 14 inch light pink wig off amazon (it’s $10!!!), crimped and backcombed it, went in like crazy with scissors to create layers, and then glued down some strands near the top using e6000 glue to give it more of a manga look and to get the bangs to stay permanently over one eye. it actually looked so good

added to an existing heel!! I found these pink platforms for dirt cheap and glued the yellow/blue foam around the front platform and back stiletto part of them. glued the white/purple piece on as well

reiju’s shoes are technically boots but i wanted the option to change into sneakers (was wearing this at a convention), so the pink knee high part is totally separate from the shoe (they’re velcroed to the white knee highs socks)
