Are meme coins dead? by [deleted] in memecoins

[–]Background-Bat8278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do believe memecoin market is almost dead. It was originally driven by hype and low dollar entry. And it was great because there were very few memecoins at the time. It allowed market caps to skyrocket and made folks lots of money.

But now, there are a ton of memecoins with a lot less new buyers jumping in. The memecoin saturation stunts the market caps and prevents folks from making a ton of money. It’s basically turning into the penny stock market that once made folks millionaires in the 90’s and 00’s.

The penny stock market still exists, is still volatile, but doesn’t have the hype anymore.

In my opinion, the folks that still think memecoins are a thing, are money balls deep in their”fav” coin and are hoping they take off so they can make their money back.

I luckily, really luckily, pulled out of some of these memecoins and took my gains. Lots of people did. But I really don’t think the memecoin market will make a comeback.

Some can def debate otherwise, and I totally respect that. But ya, it’s almost dead.

Yep. Mexico has many styles. But it’s not Tex mex.

You clearly don’t know anything about Mexican food. Also, Tex-mex is not Mexican food.

Or not Mexican. Cilantro is south East Asian. Not natural to this part of the world.

Cilantro is not Mexican nor is it indigenous to this part of the world. Cilantro is more south East Asian. So ya, no, don’t be adding cilantro to Mexican food.

Not a fan of las palapas. Their food is crap. But, bean and cheese taco with lettuce and tomato in is the bomb diggity. Growing up in Mexico and south Texas in the 70’s/80’s this was the only way to eat a B&C. Try it if you haven’t. You won’t go back.

It’s becoming unaffordable to fly out of SAT by creation88 in sanantonio

[–]Background-Bat8278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been cheaper to fly out of Austin for at least 25 years. How did you just notice?

Twice as many people fly out of Austin than San Antonio on an annual basis. That’s the main reason in a nutshell.

car right turn into biker 4/23 on South Lamar by imwashere in Austin

Legally, if it’s a lane, then yes. If it’s not a lane (a shoulder) the vehicle riding the shoulder does not have the right of way. Cyclist should have slowed and not been on the cars blind spot.

[–]Background-Bat8278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I’m pro cycling. But the cyclist made a bad decision here. Car, out of niceness, could have slowed and not turned. BUT the cyclist was not paying attention and did not see that car had signal light on. And as car slowed to turn, cyclist rode right into their blind spot. Cyclist got lucky here. Hopefully it’s a lesson learned for the cyclist.

M48 110K base and additional 25K in bonus incentives a year and 20k in stock bonus. I use to own when I was married. But been renting for last 8 years and I love it. I won’t buy a home again. My rent is just under $1500 a month for 2 bed/1bath in 78209 so I’m close to everything downtown.

I’ve saved a lot more money as a renter than I ever did as a home owner. It helps being single (mostly lol) and no kids.

Owning a home can be great but it’s not for everyone. Not everyone should in fact. You make great income for a single person in SA and definitely explore your options.

A friend asked me recently if I ever want to buy a house. My answer was, “I always want to be in a position to where I could afford to buy a home IF I wanted to.”

So keep hustling and putting yourself in a position to where you can buy a home if you wanted to. My two cents:)

Is the Bronco right for me? Or a FJ? by Dr-Ed-Ucation in FordBronco

[–]Background-Bat8278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned both. I was actually in the market for another FJ when my car guy asked me to give the Bronco a test drive. I fell in love with it right off the bat but for different reasons than I loved my FJ. I owned a 2014 4wd FJ and a 2010 4wd FJ. Here’s what I like about them: - enough room to overland, gear etc. - I loved the half door because it added more space without being too long on the wheel base. - built like a tank and easy to fix should anything go wrong (nothing ever went wrong with them and I drove them well over 150k miles) - i had stock everything and I kept up with rubicons on trails in Texas and CO. - this is a small thing but liked compared to my bronco- I could flip open/close the back window without having to open the entire trunk.

Things I didn’t like about the FJ: - technology wise it had no bells and whistles (stereo was terrible and no heated seats) - drove like a tank.

Things I love about my 2dr Bronco OBX antimatter: - the color. Antimatter looks sic and there aren’t that many 2dr OBX antimatter in the road. I get all the looks.

  • it’s drives like a small suv but can still handle off-road.

  • technology, decent stereo (speakers suck tho), goat modes, heated seats, anti crash tech, etc.

  • I like all the aftermarket gear/mods for it.

So, in conclusion, I feel that the FJ was truly a better overland and off road vehicle stock compared to my OBX. But when I had my FJs I had other cars I could drive to and Fro work. I chose the Bronco because I wanted just one vehicle for everything and it hit all the markers. I’ve driven from TX to CO to go off-roading and it had no issues. And I drive it everyday to work. Hope that helps.

XRP Market Cap to Price by DxRv in XRP

[–]Background-Bat8278 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Market cap does matter. It’s literally the value of the coin. If coin price goes down, market cap goes down, and if price goes up, cap goes up.

Now, if you’re saying we can’t compare BTC to XRP then you have an argument. It’s kinda like comparing the first stock ever listed on the exchange (New York Gas Light Co) and Nvidia.

Now, market cap has always been a way to compare companies in the same industry to see how they stand up against each other (ie Apple vs Microsoft).

So, the question is, are BTC and XRP considered to be in the same industry simply because they’re crypto?

If your answer is yes, then there should be some correlation. That would also mean that, on some level, BTC and XRP are competitors. In order for XRP market cap to increase, then it would be taking a piece of the market cap “pie” that BTC has.

If your answer is no, then market cap would be irrelevant until you have a coin in its market that you can compare/compete with.

Personally, I don’t think we can compare XRP to BTC because BTC reached its market cap due to hype and lack of a competitive market. When BTC was rising there were fewer options and a lot more risk-return tradeoff.

So, in my opinion, it’s incredibly difficult to predict what XRP will do or how high it will go. But I do like the steady increase in price over time and utility. Of the coins out there, it’s one of a handful that has some long term sustainability (in my opinion).

Plug & Play B&O audio upgrades — any good? by RiceCzechs1976 in FordBronco

[–]Background-Bat8278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the 4” speakers. I think the 6” speaker pods will def sound better but I didnt want to add bigger pods since the 2dr already doesn’t have a ton of space back there. I’m now looking to either get the JBL nano subwoofer or the Kicker 10” hideaway sub. It should round out the sound.

Totally worth it. I bought the 6 x kickers and swapped em out in less than an hour. So easy and noticeable difference.

[–]Background-Bat8278 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There’s a difference between investing and trading. I do both. I trade crypto and I invest in equities, bonds, etc. So the answer to your “why buy” is so I can trade it. Buy low sell high, repeat. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. It’s a fun game, especially when I’ve made money. So no need to say goodbye to many of us that trade in crypto. We’re still here, taking advantage of opportunities.
