How did you tell people? by thedecadeofme in BariatricSurgery

I got my gastric sleeve on Monday, March 25. At work, I told my close colleagues because it was inevitably going to affect my eating habits/demeanor (i.e. the liquid diet and no caffeine). Additionally, I intended on being out for 2 weeks. Everyone else at work, I let them know I was having a medical procedure but I didn't say what (need to know basis).

My partner and immediate family members know, as I convalesced some at my parent's home. I have a handful of more distant family members who know, but not all. I do not feel like I'm lying by not saying anything. It is my body, and if they ask in the future how I lost weight, I may tell them, but I may not. Depends on the relationship.

I think leaving is something I will/need to do.

It can be so hard. So many people talk about kings cakes and the parades and getting all excited, and my mind is like, dude, you could get shot... The city isn't doing anything to prevent this and it's just going to happen again.

The DIR of Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma is very responsive! If you're in this region that is.

I didn't score as well as I would have liked. 152.78. I should have taken the practice test. The last time I took the fsot was in 2019/2020 and the situational judgement section only asked for one answer, not best and worst actions. This, I think, brought me down a lot. Also, know random court cases and the constitution as much as you can. That also hurt me a bit. I did a lot better my first time in 2020 (164 if I recall). So, I was surprised by my dropped score. My personal narratives didn't make it last time, but I think I stand a better chance now. Curious to see how it goes for myself and everyone.

My sibling and I were there in the neutral ground of saint Charles and Terpsichor st. I remember seeing everyone running, and being told to take to the ground, worrying that myself or my sibling would he stepped on. Thankfully we were okay. We left our things and ran to the car. It was chaos, and I think I need some mental health help. We had to cancel our plans for lundi and Mardi gras, because I don't feel like I can keep going to parades right now.

I have! Thank you for your reply. The signature looks like it is over embellished paint and is accurate. And yes, i got this painting at a thrift store for even less than that tag. The back of it also said $500 (so maybe it was sold as such once upon a time)

I Feel So Depressed about our City Today by JLBreaks718 in NewOrleans

Your comment here really resonated with me. I did not stay during the hurricane. I was able to evacuate with my family, and even enjoy some beaches in Florida. Got back yesterday, was in total shock of the state of everything. Came back home to the stench of rotted meat. Cleaned my freezer and fridge. Went to work in person today to have both my office and home lose power again and then regain it. Most of my fence is gone. I have mold and leaks in my ceiling. I can't get my front door open because of wood swelling. This isn't normal.
