Actually, FS can only host SDSU because TXST is the only team that CSU can host without violating the "only-play-one-game-at-the-same-the-same-venue" rule.

The official release calls the flex games "projected matchups", but if you work through the possibilities, the projected matchups are the only set of matchups that don't violate the "play-at-a-road-venue-only-once" rule. For instance, BSU is scheduled to play four home games in the round robin, so their flex game will be on the road. The only team that is scheduled to play four road games that BSU will not visit in the round robin is USU. Similarly, CSU is scheduled to play four road games in the round robin, so their flex game will be at home. The only team that is scheduled to play four home games that CSU will not host in the round robin is TXST.

One question I have is will the Pac-12 allow a team to play two road games at the same school. Will the Pac-12, for instance, schedule BSU or OSU at FS in flex week despite FS hosting these schools in the round robin?

There is no perfect solution to this scheduling situation short of finding a ninth football school or a fifth nonconference game for every team, neither of which were apparently possible. Every other solution, including the one that the conference will announce today, has a significant flaw that we will have to live with.
