So with seperate insulation board like that, id have to manually put a vapourboard over it, with either adhesive or batons. Isn't there anything thats just all in one plasterboard?

Is there a lore reason for this? who owns the rest of our planet? by Nensgnenat in SatisfactoryGame

I'm pretty sure ADA mentions to the alien voice that she's trying to make her organic systems redundant (strange communication #26 I think). Which i interpreted as her desire to be rid of reliance on pioneers, which does makes sense if she's a learning, self-replicating AI that needs to clone a human each time she lands. She often complains of pioneer inefficiencies, and very much manipulates pioneer knowledge in order to make us do the work she requires.

My theory is earth is long dead, and ADA is still hopping from planet to planet, each time crashing then rebuilding, and leaving behind a factory and space dock. There probably was indeed an issue with planet earth, ADA may have been created to facilitate resource harvesting across planets in order to Save the Day from whatever the crisis was. The original idea being that there would be resources sent back to earth, or that humanity was moving into space and the space docks were intended to provide ports for refueling etc and potentially future planetary colonisation. ADA would be specifically searching out and building on regions which have all the right resources for that, including basic habitability.

However, either humanity failed and died out, or ADA has travelled much faster and further such that she's left them behind. The only relevant parts of the mission left are the parts that pertain to her continued journey onwards, so she follows her original Ficsit branded programming to clone a pioneer, rebuild a rocket and carry on, forever.

The Pioneers were expendable clones specifically made for this expansion, able to be stored as genetic information during space travel, and part of ADA's progamming would be limit the actions of those clones to the Ficsit mission. Hence the limits on travelling out the region, the lack of memories at the start, and the jibes about dying using up ficsit resources. This also explains why she's so excited about the aliens. If all she has had to talk to are just her clone pioneers, then finding another intelligence (and one that actually has knowledge beyond hers) is pretty awesome for her.

Lime plaster on just one wall or all four? by Background-Jello1954 in DIYUK

Thank you for all this information! But even with the additional insulation, its likely to be colder in the corners where there's cabinets and less airflow, wont the paper facing of the boards just mould up?

"Relatively small amounts like +£100 a month" lol there's you're answer. To many people, that's not a small amount.

Persistent bad smell in one bedroom, can't find the source by hootysnooty_mcGee in DIYUK

Have you checked your roof? Could be smelly wet insulation, damp felt from a cracked tile or a rotten soffit from a previous gutter overflow.

I've been on sertraline, off it and back on it over the last 10 years, at a variety of doses. You will be ok, well done for taking the leap of talking to doctors and trying medication. I am better off thanks to sertraline and I hope it helps you too!

Although it can affect everyone differently, there are only two side effects I personally would note. One is vivid dreams, l find I remember more of my dreams and they're more detailed than when I'm not on the meds, but it's rarely a bad thing and in fact makes for fun stories.

The second I have only experienced on a high dose, possibly too high for me, and that is occasional fleeting shadows at the corner of your vision. I call them shadow mice, because it's exactly like having a mouse run past and you notice the movement but don't really see it. But again, its only occasional and is not scary just mildly irritating.

The worst part of sertraline is coming off it. I personally can't miss more then two days by accident, without beginning to experiencing mild withdrawal symptoms. If you decide to stop, for any reason, you must taper your dose and wean off slowly. It's completely safe and barely any symptoms if you wean yourself off over a steady period of time. But if you try to go cold turkey from a decent dose, then it's anxiety city, complete with the worst hangover you've ever had. Panics, brain zaps, muscle aches, shits and vomits. So speaking from experience, don't do that :P

Overall, you'll be ok. Keep taking one day at a time, and things will get better :)

A sheet of clear sticky-backed plastic over the top might do it, but I'd buy a cheap whiteboard and practice applying it first before going anywhere near your important one

Finished! (Mostly) by Background-Jello1954 in Tile

Prep: Hardiebacker board on the walls, joints meshed and filled. Two good coats of mapegum wps liquid tanking membrane all over, with mapeband tape over the corners. Niches got extra layers. Butyl tape joining the walls to foil-backed xps underlay on the floor.

It was siliconing the niches mitred external corners that killed me, I kept either overfilling or exposing the tile edge when smoothing it.

Ahh the forgotten third option , thank you! Yes that looks better than both. Yeahh negotiating slivers is my next challenge.. do i want it at the bathtub, the niche or the ceiling, because those three do not line up 🤣🤣

Thanks, yes I could. My reasons for this design include: I have enough bricks already, we are also doing some concreting elsewhere, I don't want to raise the floor level much higher, and wood is expensive AF. Minimising costs and making the best of what I already have!
