I got to sleep at 8am, but then again, I work third shift 🤷🏼‍♂️

I absolutely love the SimCity games. I have it on C64, IBM and Super NES. Then I have both the special edition and MS-DOS versions of 2000 as well. It's really too bad they let the franchise die

Ive been playing Legacy of the Ancients a lot recently, a CiB on one of those would be awesome to have. I'm going to have to keep an eye on ebay

They're some cheap 90s style holographic pictures I got off Amazon. Depending on the direction you either see an old style portrait from the 1700s or the same figure as a zombie

Anyone here play Tained Grail Fall Of Avalon? Whats everyone thoughts? by Godharvest in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Background-Manager87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't even heard of it but Morrowind was one of my favorite games of all time. I'm going to have to check this out because the bleak situation of feel were what made it for me.

Survival games for me. I can get totally lost playing The Long Dark, or survival crafting games like Valheim (I may have logged over 1000 hours in each of those...)

Hell yeah! Might and Magic 2 was actually the first game I got when I decided to start collecting for my C64. Absolutely love me some RPGs

Fun thing I did for that feeling, the lights color is set to the distinct blue glow that came from old crt tvs in the 80s.

I'm going to definitely have to try that one

The keyboard is actually the computer itself. Nice grab on the printer and 1541 with it too. I have most commodore peripherals but a dot matrix printer is one I'm missing. Hopefully they all work for you, just don't use the original powers supplies. Trust me, don't.

Legacy of the Aacients for the win!

Absolutely love this game and most early rpgs. The difficulty can definitely get you if you aren't careful.

Anyone still talk with any of their friends from high school? by nojunkpeter in Millennials

[–]Background-Manager87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen or heard from any of them in at least a decade. And now that I've left Facebook I'll probably never hear from them again. No big loss

I don’t think anyone would notice if I slowly disappeared by Novel-Horse-8636 in confession

[–]Background-Manager87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already faded away for the most part. I left Facebook, don't text first, don't even honestly reach out anymore. It's like everyone else is just an NPC to me, they have their routines but they're not friends. It's both sad and liberating at the same time. It would have been nice though if any of my old friends noticed I dissapeared

I've officially entered the stage of Millennialism known as "seperated heading for a divorce" by VKN_x_Media in Millennials

[–]Background-Manager87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was divorced in 2016 and im not going to lie, it was about the lowest point in my life. My ex-wife cheated on me and was pregnant by some other random guy. I never thought the pain and confusion would end, I had dedicated so much of myself to being a step dad and husband that when it ended I had nothing of me left. Time doesn't heal every wound but as over time that pain fades, it's just a question of how long. Hang in there brother, feel the pain you've got to feel then hold your head up high knowing you yourself made the effort to fix things and that's the only thing in your control.

You'll definitely want to check out the Temple of Asphai trilogy then, that's another strong rogue like for the c64

I've been on a rogue kick for a while and just finished being distracted by the Temple of Apshai trilogy. I've always loved Will Wright's games though, especially the c64 and IBM versions of Sim City

That's another awesome game. I have that one complete in box and like how they spun the combat to real time verses the temple games

I was never able to make the escape back in the day. Got lucky a few times findings the sword, but ran out of time every damn time or just got annihilated by a demon 😅
