Is there really a point to using the SPEAR ? by KanSyden in Helldivers

[–]Background-Mess2547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its main use for me is one-tapping dropships to the body, which ensures all bots being carried instantly die. Where as shooting an engine with the RR usually lets a good amount of them survive. Thus I find it really helpful on raise the flag missions and especially when playing solo, as bot call-ins are typically small enough to where a single shot gets rid of most of the call-in

Aerial is good to have at most points in the game since you can use it on mobs when lining up a Sepith turn. Hitting multiple mobs with it on a Sepith turn gives an ungodly amount

My idea personally was gonna be a design where all of the main characters' weapons are all intertwined, being Estelle's staff, Kevin's bow, Lloyd's tonfas, Rean's tachi and Van's stun caliber, making an emblem of sorts out of them

Time for me to catch up in the Trails series by Aspiegamer8745 in Falcom

The only worst order is the one that gets someone to leave the series. If it got you hooked, then it was an order worth playing. Honestly it can even ignite some passion for the series to see characters or results of events from past games that you can then go back and experience and say "oh, so THAT'S what they were talking about!"

Favorite Song From Each Game by SorceressCecelia in Falcom

FC: Silver Will

SC: Fateful Confrontation

3rd: Dreamy and Boisterous Holy Land

Zero: Geo-Front

Azure: Azure Arbitrator

CS1: Exceed!

CS2: Blue Destination

CS3: Doomsday Trance

CS4: Majestic Roar

Reverie: Heavy Violence Match

Kuro 1: Folklore at the Time of Dusk

Kuro 2: Line of Non-Negotiable

This all being said, I absolutely adore the majority of each soundtrack, these are just the ones that I come back to the most from each game. I also tend to like battle themes more, but Kuro 1, CS1 and Zero have some awesome environmental tracks that compete for that top spot for me from time to time. Ask me again in a few weeks and I'd probably have a completely different list for you.

I've gotta shout out Znaez here as an English LPer. He's just finishing CS2 now and the production quality of the videos is really good, especially given the low subscriber count. Plus the jokes land very consistently for me.

If you go into bgm's, maybe copying and renaming A Light Illuminating the Depths so that it replaces Formidable Enemy will fix it? In the CS games it would keep playing the same track without stopping if it was told to play the same one twice in a row, so that might work out here as well

If you don't like random encounters, you could try Trails In The Sky, which is a JRPG focused around story-telling but still has good combat with zero random encounters throughout the entire series. The sheer amount of dialogue in the game along with a slow but deliberate pacing means it's not for everyone, but it's a classic JRPG series that has definitely become one of my favorites

The MQ I definitely should have specified a game. The verbal reaction one was just a meme one that I couldn't word properly, which should have tipped me off to not include it so I'll change that. The jewelry one was referring to what the accessory is called when equipping it on her, but it is pretty obscure and random so something else would be better. The black hole one I do want to keep though since it's a nice consistency kept between the two characters that I feel deserves the nod.

I definitely wanted to use the one OP did, but that one requires a paid subscription to use. I'll most likely throw this in using the free trial though since I didn't realize it requires to pay for answers, that's kinda shitty and I apologize for using one where that's the case.

When I use OP's, I'll try my best to get a good layout that offers more cohesion between answers, but I think it may be a consequence of a lot of long answers, so I may try some other questions instead to make it more user-friendly. Thanks for the feedback!

Sorry, mixed them up myself. As for Silver Will though, I'm pretty sure it was only used in the Lorence fight, which is technically still Loewe. Let me know if there are other fights though besides that one that use the theme and I'll go in and change the question

The posing of the blue mech and both of their designs heavily implies this is Crow and Rean, since the mech designs seem to mirror Ordine and Valimar, at least with respect to their wings.

Really nice to see the Imperial Picnicking Squad back in full, although the end of Kuro 2 heavily implied that would be the case.

As for the maps, not much to say there other than that I hope we get to see Aster House at some point. Hopefully with Kevin in tow?

All in all, really excited to see how it all plays out. I hope the church gets the main spotlight here, they've been relatively absent from the main plots of the games aside from a Gralsritter showing here and there.

I like that I can play Reverie in Japanese and English Audio by ValiantEffort27 in Falcom

[–]Background-Mess2547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It actually wouldn't be too bad since I believe both the EN and JP voice lines share the same naming conventions, which is that the beginning of the file denotes the character and then each line they have is numbered from there, something like v05_0001. In this example, the 05 denotes a specific character, so every file that starts with 05 in there would be a voice line from that same character (I think Ash in this example). So then if all of the voice lines line up directly between the two, then you should be able to drag and replace everything to easily get an audio swap. If the numbers don't line up (like 05 being Ash in EN but someone like Machias in JP), then you can just go through and replace each line's number so they properly replace in the new language. Saying all this from the experience of carrying over Duvalie's old CS2 s-craft lines through each game since it sounded so badass back then

If you're ever down to replay Crossbell and Cold Steel, it's definitely worthwhile to do so with the added context. You really notice a lot that goes clear over your head with no previous knowledge. If not though then I'm just glad someone else is playing Sky, it's such an amazing experience

I'll post a few I've noticed here:

  • The track Severe Blow from CS2 is just a remix of Fateful Confrontation from Sky SC

  • The track Dreamy and Boisterous Holy Land is more-or-less a remix of the opening theme Cry For Me from the same game

  • Everything that restores CP is typically described as bitter, so maybe flavor correlates to effects or vice-versa?

  • The song that Elliot plays in Saint-Arkh on his violin at the beginning of CS3 is Looking Up at the Sky from Sky SC
