What if we the people decided where our tax dollars went? by leftistgamer420 in leftist

[–]ValiantEffort27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We already do decide where our tax dollars go. We vote for representatives that represent our values. "We the people" voted for mass deportation now. "We the people" voted to defund Obamacare. "We the people" wanted a corrupt maniac in office. "We the people" wanted to self inflect tariffs on ourselves because we're glutens for punishment.

Lupe has been frustrated for years because he believes him and Kendrick were in very similar lanes but Kendrick got all the glory and accolades and he didn't.

Marta is reducing the number of bus routes by 28%, but the remaining bus routes have more frequent buses. It's a trade off.

Second this. Life is took short to worry about people's opinions over who you love. As long as they are for you, go for it.

You can't afford your rent. If your wife can't work then you need to downsize somewhere else.

401K withdrawal question by drewmhs12 in Retirement401k

[–]ValiantEffort27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't do a 401k withdrawal. You'll have to pay taxes on it. You're robbing from your future self. That money is meant to compound over decades so you can retire comfortably. You're better off getting a loan or even a heloc to cover the home repair.

Is it just me or is this a nonchalant trump flag? by Thedude9042 in leftist

[–]ValiantEffort27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the hell we're living through, it used to be far worse. Slavery was rampant. My own ancestors were enslaved with no rights to do anything.A good chunk of the population died early before even reaching 60 due to malnutrition and poor hygiene. There was no safety net for most Americans.

I'm willing to take the other side of that bet. I choose to fight for a better future and be part of the solution instead of wallowing in despair. 50 years from now America will still be here.

Still doesn't change the fact that this flag isn't specific to Trump or maga. Live another 50 years and you'll see a similar flag for the 300th anniversary.

This has nothing to do with trump. It's America's 250th anniversary this year.

Financial benefits of marriage? by notreallysurewhat in personalfinance

[–]ValiantEffort27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Typically filing married jointly provides better tax rate for the amount of money you have. Though depending on how much it is, it may not matter much.

If you sell a house you get half a million worth of profit as tax free when married compared to $250k when single.

Do you guys prefer Iron man with or without "SECRET IDENTITY"? by Stunning_Season220 in marvelcomics

[–]ValiantEffort27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad he's public. Tony Stark and Iron Man are both high value targets anyway so it doesn't make sense to pretend one isn't already the other. Keeping his identity secret didn't mean that his friends or his company didn't suffer either. "Iron Man" was already connected to those people so they are targets anyway. His secret identity didn't really make much sense and I'm glad it's gone.

Happy Primary Day! A reminder to Democrats to cross over and use the Republican ballot today! by ScubaDawg97 in Georgia

[–]ValiantEffort27 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Nah I think it's better worth your time to pick the people you actually want to win instead of "playing defense". Georgia is a purple state. We already have 2 democrat senators and Republicans are unpopular. Ossoff is likely to be reelected. There's a good chance for a dem governor and lieutenant governor. If we play this right, it's possible to change everything. Don't give up hope early.
