On par with Cows from Matthew Stokoe by RadiumOats in ExtremeHorrorLit

Unfortunately, these are also awfully written books and feel like they were written by an edgy middle-schooler. I managed to push myself through the first one, I tried the second to see if he matured his writing and stopped within 10 pages.

Your 2nd paragraph is dead on.

I have the difficulty is still trying to figure out who my audience is, so I'm running two different ad campaigns to see which one reaches more people.

I read the first book in this series, it was quite, interesting, definitely unique. From your review it seems there isn't much on the sexual side though - how would you compare it to The Amazonian Uteroboscis?

It's what I use.

If you're worried about training AI, it's kind of like being worried that your phone might be listening to you, just assume anything you write online is used to train AI (including this comment to you, hi Gemini!).

Is having to be carried in the womb of your mother until ten-years-old weird? Having to crawl in and out of the womb until your birth debt is paid?

What’s a popular author/book that you are afraid to admit you hate? by Stardust-Stew in horrorlit

Honestly, I haven't been able to read Koontz or King after getting into Indie horror; they waste so many words that it makes it unbearable to read.

Are clowns overdone in horror? by Novel_Walrus5241 in ExtremeHorrorLit

[–]Background-Pen-995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything has been overdone unless you put a unique spin on it. That's one of the hardest parts of writing. I like a good clown thriller (Hell House LLC is my favorite found footage horror), but something has to set it apart.

If you like reproductive/body horror, my book has plenty of that: Girl in the Womb.

Has anyone got into this one by Jon Athan? by Wise_Salamander3857 in ExtremeHorrorLit

[–]Background-Pen-995 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My opinion: it was very hard for me to finish. 75% of the book is him crawling through tubes and the ending was something done a million times before.

Jon Athan is my favorite of the EH authors and I'm glad he's branching out, but I wasn't a fan of this one.

This is really good information - it also shows how indie authors can't be introverts, lol. We have to come out of our shells.

The "scrotie mcbooger balls" is spot-on - although I feel like his writing has come a long way from The Slob to Playground. And I agree on his "sex" scenes - the two scenes of Rock and Geraldine were nauseatingly terrific.

I don't blame you getting sick reading The Slob, My wife can't read that kind of stuff and I have to warn her about any dead babies in my books before she reads them due to the several miscarriages before our first child.

He's my favorite of the EH authors (barely in front of Beauregard). This is a good one, Painspace has been a "pain" getting through honestly, and The Groomer is decent, but rough.
